First fucking five Touhou games. All of them are shmups [even the first! Wikipedia lied! you have to shoot the fuck out of that ball! and dodge bullets! and the ball!].

I love the music in them, there's nothing like a good FM tune. I spent the most time with Touhou 5, namely since I had the difficulty on Easy, 5 lives+4bombs .

The emulator really mangles the text though. Like, horribly. It's better than what happens when Windows tries to render Shift-JIS in CP-1252, but only because the letters don't look like a mess of function signs and Latin letters. They instead look like normal punctuation mixed with normal letters. First game was the worst on this, even the English text had that problem [it looked like #t#h#i#s].

Started on 6-8. I didn't go for a full run on any of them yet, namely since I was just setting them up, applying patches, etc.

It's 12:40am EDT, I'm tired, and when I close my eyes, I see bullet spirals and lines coming down at Reimu. I've only been playing for an hour. Am I going crazy?

Anyway, I'm playing Perfect Cherry Blossom [and I died really stupidly somewhere on the 4th boss, and then I ended up being boxed in without bombs or lives later...].

I really really hope I don't see bullets in my sleep tonight. *shudder*
That was horrible. It really was. It was neat for a while [hey! colors! patterns! woo!], and then it got kind of freaky [WHAT'S HAPPENING TO ME?!?! EVERYTHING IS BROKEN!! WHYYY?!?!?]. I'm not kidding either. I did eventually fall asleep, which is a Good Thing(tm), and I didn't end up dreaming anything that night, but...

I've been playing Raiden Fighters Aces non stop since I bought it last week...Mostly Score Attack and Boss Rush mode to see how I rank against the rest of the world. I'm currently ranked 24th on Boss Rush mode for Raiden Fighters.

More RSG. After a few hours on Saturn Mode I've switched to arcade and I prefer it for some reason (especially since I found out that Saturn Mode takes 1.5 hours to run through and arcade about 40 minutes!).

Still can only get to the third boss on one credit (I never continue) but this means I'm getting better on levels 1 and 2 (or should that be 3?).

Bottom line is that I am still only managing scores of just under 300,000.00 which I think is quite poor but am still at the stage of learning where everything comes from.

Overall I'm really enjoying this game and I think, on balance (and in my opinion) it's better than Ikaruga.

I'm playing Espgaluda. I got the game almost 3 years ago, but I credit fed through it once and didn't like it very much. Now that I'm not a retard, I'm playing through the game on one credit and actually understand how the mechanics work now... and I fucking love it. Game is so damn good. Unfortunately, I am not very good at it, as this is my first Cave shmup. I keep dying midway through the 4th stage's boss using 1 cred... but I'm having fun, and that's what's important, I suppose.

Good game, Keep at it. IMO the best to start out Cave-wise, final boss might be a bit trouble but the rest of the route is pretty much "beginner friendly".

I'm playing dodonpachi and esprade. I can get near the end of the third stage on DDP. I'm going to keep going for it until I get a 1cc on the first loop.

Dragon Spirit, recently reached the 8th stage. Getting the 1cc is gonna need a bit of luck, but with a little more game time I think I'll have it. Other shmups here and there... Flying Shark (I've looped it twice but it's still hard for me to do so, such a fun game though the music is amazing.) Gradius 3 (SNES) well I just played a couple credits today, I want to clear it, think I need a little more practice to do that.

I recently got a Saturn USB pad and the D-pad is pretty amazing, I liked it instantly. Though, for games where I'm not using rapidfire, I prefer my HRAP for easier button mashing , thumb gets tired on a controller.

Also some credits here and there, Strikers games (I like the first one the most right now, because of it's style,) DDP, Esprade, some others I don't remember playing.

Touhou 2, 4, and 12.
2 is massive fun, 4 is nice, and 12 pretty neat, but I've only just started 12. 12 doesn't even start in Linux+Wine though, the process doesn't even start for me.

EDIT: got it to run, had to disable Compiz, and get dx3d9_40.dll, and even then, ran at 10fps.

RainbowBell (AKA Twinbee) - the DS port on Konami Classics Series: Arcade Hits. Amazing game with awesome audio and great gameplay mechanics. Feels like its made a little later than 1985. I want the PCB!

I went back to playing BWR after a rest and made it to stage 5 on 1 credit for the 1st time and beat my highscore (12.6mill), Must be because i changed the bullet colour from violet to sacred bullet hell blue. BTW wot does Beat SE do in the option menu?

Tried out a couple of other games aswell including lightning spirit 2 of which i suck totally. Cant seem to get used to the concept of polarity switching. Also tried out Demolition Gunner : ISAD i got to stage 5 normal the first try. How many stages does it have anyway?

Senko no Ronde [it's not so much playing as it is praying that MAME reads your button input, while the game runs at 10% full speed, and you have NO idea what the fuck is happening [BTW, played as Culian]].

Also, some Touhou 12, can now get to the third level [but the first boss annoying as fuck with those huge spheres she fires near the end, usually cuts off 2 lives from me...].

I should probably fire up AoS or something but...

EDIT: found out how to convert CHDs to what ever NullDC uses, OH MY GOD, Senko is so much fucking fun [at full speed]! Took me ages to realize how to get input to work though, apparently I didn't put the new input plugin in the Plugins folder. Luckily, I didn't ask anything anywhere [but I was about to... v_v]. Only reason I bothered with MAME here was to see how far Naomi emulation had come in it. Lots of stuff is wrong, but it works there.

For some reason, in NullDC, it's stuck at 9 credits after you insert a coin...
