Hi folks

Post by cakefist »

It seems I have been a fan shmups for years and I didn't know it. Just discovered this treasure trove of a site and forum and thought I would join up and say hello. I am from Newcastle in the UK. I am huge fan of what I now know to be called shmups. Just purchsed triggerheart today as I heard rumours it was being taken of live at the end of the month due to poor reviews. I play most of my shmups on Mame and the few available on XBLA, my favourite being Progear.

Hi there!

Let me be the first to welcome you to this forum.
You have good taste in games (shmups...) I'd say.

However we have a thread dedicated to introducing oneself already here.

That said... glad to have you around. :)

Triggerheart is going to be taken off? Is it worth getting even if I already have the ps2 version?

Cheers, I have to admit though I love shmups but I am terrible at them. :)

XBLA version of Triggerheart Exelica is worth getting if you don't own the Dreamcast version. PS2 version does have some nice features. (new character, new story mode, new beautiful opening movie) However it's plagued by slowdown for some reason.

Where did you hear this? It would be pretty outrageous for MS to stop digitally distributing a niche/cult genre title, just because mainstream reviewers didn't score it highly...
