Collecting this week - The Machine: Bride Of Pinbot
http://www.system11.org/temp/Pinball/BOP/index.html
It's rather special in that it's home use only, 2 owners, having been won brand new in a pinball tournament.

I love the fact that even though it's a robot chick they still gave her a bra...Dragoforce wrote:I love the sideart!!!!

the machine rocks, such a beautiful game when its in action (definetly one of my faves), i think it plays great aswell, nice oldschool feel to it without being dull.

So Bloodflowers won it from you? Care to tell us about how this came about?sven666 wrote:the machine rocks, such a beautiful game when its in action (definetly one of my faves), i think it plays great aswell, nice oldschool feel to it without being dull.

Nice one. I never got to play it much in the arcades, but I recall it was quite fun.bloodflowers wrote:Collecting this week - The Machine: Bride Of Pinbot

How much did all that set you back, Jockel?
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Technically 550€ for the cab + 100€ for shipping over 400km.
It's got a really light screenburn, which can only be seen when turned off.
Other than that, the colors, geometry and contrast are fucking ace.
The Ketsui's not mine though, it's owned by my mate playing in the pic (its geist).
But he got it dirt cheap, somewhere in the 500€ range IIRC.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Went to Fry's yesterday to go pick up a couple of cans of compressed air, and somehow ended up walking out of the place with an SFIV Tournament Fightstick for 360... On sale, no less.

The thing is HUGE too. I'm almost wondering if it might take up too much space. Still, it plays quite nicely (my ineptitude with regards to SFIV and other such games notwithstsanding) and I was able to get it working with MAME on my PC with little trouble.

Posters and trinkets:

They came with an Undeadline (MSX) poster and some stickers so they'll probably be for sale soon.

Finally put this thing together:

Had the board for over a year, finally found a vs. cab locally (was a vs. Golf). HUGE fan of this game, so awesome to have a dedicated cab of it. Did a brief write up on my blog about it. I still have to swap out the buttons and t-molding - both are on the way.

Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
It's great isnt it? I found it in this random antique shop (I love antiquing) for pretty cheap. It apparently was in some fire truck for a while as a novelty item, and got parted out later.
The place had a ton of boxed/mint older/80s Robotech, Star Wars and Xmen action figures as well for super cheap, but I can't say as I'm too interested in those things anymore besides looking at them. They had a boxed/mint Empire Strikes Back for Atari as well though, that at least was a little tempting..

Took me long enough to get it together (about a year and a half), but the cost so stupid cheap when all was said and done. Could have spent much more, but I just waited for good deals. The marquee was NOS (from Scott at Hyperspace Arcade) and the board was a gift from a friend. My girl helped with the cost of the cab as a partial b-day gift. Kind of a dream cab for me, being the big Castlevania fan that I am.
Re: Awesome stuff you've just bought (+pics please)
Very nice. I probably should get a dedicated Rygar cab some day, especially since I have the board, the marquee and the bezel already.drboom wrote:Took me long enough to get it together (about a year and a half), but the cost so stupid cheap when all was said and done. I have all the bits for a Konami Aliens cab now: Marquee, board, and new old-stock vinyl side art (even the manual!).emphatic wrote: Very nice. I probably should get a dedicated Rygar cab some day, especially since I have the board, the marquee and the bezel already.
Just need to find the right woody to put it all together, but I'll probably hold off until I've bought a property.
