So should I pick up either of the two games? Worth my Xbox Points?
I played the trial for both and they seem okay but I'm still undecided. I have way too many games so I have to be very picky on what I buy from now on.
Would be nice to get some feedback about the two from people here. Last time I asked I got some good advice and found myself owning Ultimate Shooting Collections... and...... LOVING IT
Omega 5 is a decent original game, but its nothing to write home to mom about. If you're desperate i'd say get o5. I personally enjoy Trigger Heart Exelica, but it's a little different in my opinion than most shooters. If you like more of a bullet hell type game then maybe this one may be worth picking up, but if you're going for score prepare to do a lot of boss milking.
I really like Triggerheart Exelica but a lot of people don't. Basically if you enjoyed the demo then you'll like the rest of the game. The difficulty gets a bit harder as you go on and you need to make proper use of the anchor shot to get through.
As much as I do like Omega Five and am indifferent about Exelica (though I've only played the PS2 version), you might get more bang for your buck with the latter. Omega Five's fairly easy, it took me maybe ~5 hours to 1CC the game with all the characters. Many, including me, have a hard time seeing some of the enemy bullets, which makes playing for score an overly frustating experience.
And yet despite all that, I still prefer Omega Five personally. I'm a sucker for character-based shmups like that.
No matter how good a game is, somebody will always hate it. No matter how bad a game is, somebody will always love it.

You should grab the XBLA version of Exelica and get on my friends leaderboard! You might like the game more when it's not plagued with slowdown. Exelica and Crueltear are characters too, you know
Reminds me, I still need to go back to Omega Five and get the last 1cc with Tempest since you were kind enough to capture that video.
appreciate the feedback.... I just couldn't really get a good feel of Omega Five. I mean it looks beautiful but I felt something was missing... I dunno maybe its just me or something.
Trigger Hearts on the other hand feels pretty fun. First stage is enjoyable but not great, I guess I'll take the plundge and purchase this and see where it takes me.

Different kind of character-based shmup. I meant stuff like Forgotten Worlds, Section Z, Side Arms...basically, the ones where you have to control the direction of fire as well and have environmental obstacles to deal with.
