You might got something wrong.

Telephone card are only available for customer who pre-ordered it from messe sanoh akihabara ,not from play -asia.(It must be more fuzzy thing to sort out if you want to buy that one.)

Not only preserve it before release date, you have to spend additional cost(around 2000-3000yen)for telephone card. Thus ,It 's generally expensive than it from amazon.jp or play-asia.

http://www.messe-sanoh.co.jp/

The artwork's pattern on telephone card are various depend on which stores you ordered from?

I did not know that Mamoru came with a card as a pre-order bonus. I got my LE from Play-Asia, but I must have tossed away the card together with the package.

Play-Asia usually doesn't get preorder bonuses like telephone cards. If you really want preorder bonuses, you might want to start buying games from Himeya instead, since they usually get them. Himeya's shipping options are limited and more expensive though.

Thanks for the info. I feel better now since I did not check the contents of the package, just pick the game.

But usually Play-Asia does ship the pre-order bonus, as long as it does not imply in an extra cost. I got both Otomedius G! and Death Smiles pre-order bonus from them (although both itens are in-game bonus itens, not something like telephone cards).

Looks like this game got a title update today which fixed some score errors which allowed for overly high scores on the leaderboards. I don't think this means the popcorn milking shown on the DVD.

Gallery also added for the DLC character.

EXTRA options added to the Option menu which allow you to see a combo timer and a timer for the last level.

So, has anyone bought the new character? 400 points is quite hefty for just one character imo.
Also what's the new achievement?

Oh, I get to update that thread again. Goody.

アーケードモードクリア(のわ) (40)
1CC Arcade Mode with DLC character Nowa at ☆3 or higher difficulty

I'm sure Karel & Lukino will get a 40 point 1cc achievement too. It's a bit curious that Konami didn't bother to do it for thier DLC Otomedius characters.

Any screens of Nowa in action, or at least her shot pattern?

I'm never surprised. It seem that way.

According to previous title, such as senko no ronde , under defeat even the superative shmup, border down. This trend would never change.

However.Sales doesn't matter since most of their income have been contributed by the large number of arcade gamers.

So I bit the bullet and plunked down the 400 MS points for Nowa. She kicks all kinds of game-breaking ass. The game is now even more of a total cakewalk. Basically she has two streams of forward-firing shots, backed up by enemy-seeking bats (ala Gunbird 2). When cursed you're an absolute screen-filling terror. Fun stuff and almost worth the price IMHO.

Pretty much. She's not quite on a Sakura level, but she definitely feels more powerful than some of the others. I find that I can curse myself and punk bosses much quicker than with anyone else.

She's not so much a game-breaker mid-stage as she is on bosses. Your bats come in bursts, so mid-stage you're not as godly since you still have to dodge like normal as you wait for more bats to arrive. It does make it so you don't have to turn as much, since you can pretty much just keep facing up and allow the bats to clean up any enemies that escape your frontal fire.

On bosses though it seemed I was able to just keep cursing myself at the right time and I had a much easier go at it than I had with other characters. I'd say she's maybe 15% more powerful than the other characters. Not a complete cheat, but getting there. This game is a bit dull, and everyone feels just a tad underpowered, so at least in the short term it's fun to get to overpower enemies with firepower and soak up some achievements.

Took the plunge for Nowa too, but, on the contrary, find her pretty weak.
Her main firepower comes from her bats which automatically aim at whatever is on screen, meaning that you cannot focus on a particular point during boss fights. This makes the fight against the first boss for example much longer than for other characters.

Compared to the other characters where I usually manage to reach the final boss with around 2"30 in the counter, I only had something like 30' with her.
To be noted that I reached the time limit during the final boss fight and the little death characters did not appear! To be confirmed, but it seems that you can completely ignore the time limits with her...

She however makes the final form of the last boss, which is not that bad anyway, a total pushover.
Provided you really can ignore the time, she may be a good candidate for a safe 1-life achievement.

Another extra character went up. For another 400 pts.

400 pts for each extra character is pretty expensive IMO. I may bite in the future, but boy my wallet will be hurt.

At this point they're almost just selling achievement points more than characters. I'd love to see the "attach rate" for downloads like this on such small titles. Sadly, I'll probably bite and check it out.

Considering that Mamoru sold a little more than 8K (Am I right?), the sales from the DLC should be really small, and that is a chicken-egg situation for the price: it has to be high to cover dev expensives since few people will buy it, and few people will buy it because it is expensive.

But I agree that it is strange that Konami did not follow the same route with Otomedius.

I mean, why Konami did not added achievements for Otomedius DLC content, it could attract sales (as Mamaru is doing).

So I picked up the new DLC, whatever the kid's name is. He looks like a reject from Shikigami with his little cabbie cap and jacket. He has a fairly basic forward firing pattern with a "sniper" shot to back him up. The sniper just seems to target whatever's closest, and deals a pretty good amount of damage. After cursing yourself you power up to three or four sniper rounds at a time. Not super powerful, but the sniper seems to mostly do its job. Running out of time also doesn't seem to be a problem for him unless I got some random time bonus I didn't notice. I'm going to play some more tonight to confirm. So far worth the purchase, though I think I do prefer Nowa if I had to pick.

do you ever have sex with your gamer score?
Damn Tim, you know there are quite a few Americans out there who still lives in tents due to this shitty economy, and you're dropping loads on a single game which only last 20 min. Do you think it's fair? How much did you spend this time?

Finally got this game last night. Not sure what to think of it yet. It seems to take a few levels to warm up the difficulty. Also, the load times are pretty annoying even after installing.

Are there no downloadable replays on the leaderboards?
