Hi guys not been here for awhile, have I missed much?

Post by Danny »

Hi guys!

Just recently I went to an arcade expo in the UK (Insert Coin '09 in fact), it had a ton of shmups, some of which I thought I would never have the chance to play because of were I live at the moment. As a result of this the long dormant shmup releated fire in my soul has been reignited, I love playing shoot-em-up's again...

So what's the buzz at the moment? What's everyone in to? Anything significant happen to the website or the forum since I was gone? I appologise for the what could be described as a purely random topic (in fact it may even be in the wrong forum, if so please move thanks! :D) but I've not been keeping track of shmups for awhile but after playing Death Smiles, DoDonPachi Daioujou and Pink Sweets (as well as replaying old favourates like APB and Raiden Fighters 2 and R-Type Leo) I am wondering is there anything I've been shmup releated missing, past or present.

Thanks! :)

if you're looking to jump back in to the hobby, i'd recommend picking up a japanese region xbox 360. deathsmiles and ddp doj black label have already been released, and we have mushihimesama futari, ketsui, and espgaluda 2 already announced for future ports. and thats just on the cave side of things. you can also pick up raiden fighters aces (contains 1, 2 & jet) and raiden 4 while you're at it.

Yeah when I played Death Smiles I was seriously considering buying one. Anyone know of any good places to buy a JAP 360 that don't charge a small fortune?

I believe I saw somebody selling one in the Trading section. Just do a search for 360 and see what comes up. Probably much better prices than many other places.
