Eat some painkillers, you'll be fine.

I've ripped out nine teeth all in all, nothing to worry about. Just let the painkillers to their work.

I learned to REMEMBER THAT I FUCKING TOOK OFF FOR A REASON, for one. Took $12 to work for a girl so she could go to the warped tour. She'd better fucking appreciate it, or she's gonna DIE.

I'm really not so much worried about the pain as I am tearing open my teeth-holes from all the talking (shitshitshitlololol). Is that something I should be worried about? =P

if anything take a large syringe(without the needle) so you can keep the holes wet....you dont want them to dry out....

you need syringe to clear out your left over food as well. Letting food stay in the holes while healing is bad business.

If your on meds no need to try working, just chill :)

Some of that Vicodin works great but can plug you up if you're trying do #2 in the loo. Just take it nice and easy with your sewn-up gums. I recall sleeping all day upon getting home when I got all my wisdom teeth extracted many moons ago. Was fine with that "bright-eye & bushy tail" look the next day. ^_~

Yeah, it only really hurt yesterday. I slept a LOT. Several hours yesterday and most of the night. The Grateful Dead on my 360 took me through most of it :)

Now I have something like 22 vicodin pills at my disposal. Could probably make a few bucks if it caught my fancy :) Plenty of stoners around here, though I don't talk to many anymore. I'd rather not take 'em myself, as I hear you might as well be slamming alcohol for all the good it does your liver.
It's the tylenol the hydrocodone is cut with that is bad for you in Vicodin. As long as you're not taking anything else containing acetominophin, then it's not going to do any damage to your liver.

Oh, awesome. In that case, I'll have to finish up my McGillicuddy's Lemon Drop when I'm healed up.

Yeah I had to go under general anesetic for mine to get yanked out. I was under the knife for a good few hours too. when i woke up I wabnted to be sick and they said oh no its ok you dont need a dish you have nothing on your stomach and then I threw up what seemd like half a pint of blood. I later found out that the doc decided to use my throat and stoumach as a drain instead of using some sort of hoover to suck it up. Red really did not suit that nurse
long story is I was off for two weeks with it as i could not move my jaw due to the swelling.

it was exactly the same story for me except for the throwing up? wtf
i remember when i woke up of the narcosis i was constantly shaking.
But anyway.
Got all mine removed at once (4), couldnt eat for a whole week, and another one just in pain.
the swelling made me look like a caveman btw

Yeah, work sucked ass. Bright side though, I'm getting promoted :) No more picking up lazy girls' slack, I shall soon be a Front End Manager :D Now I'll be telling 'em to pick up their own damn slack ^_~

As for the swelling, well, at worst I look and sound like Marlon Brando. Hopefully that shit goes back down tonight, I gotta work Saturday, too =/

Man, I'm so lucky I didn't get boned in the ass like you guys, Lordstar and elf. That must've been as bad as the time I almost killed myself with Everclear, except over time and with actual medical attention...

Instead of Vicodin or Vicodin ES, I've got stronger Hydrocodone pills
with more Hydro and less Tylenol. They're Norco 10 (10mg Hydrocodone /325mg Tylenol)

i.e. Taking TWO regular 5/500 Vicodin tabs means you're getting 1000 mg Tylenol, and you don't want to do that too many times in 24 hours (limit FDA limit 4000mg Tylenol per day and even that's not good for you) With a 10/325 tab (Norco 10 or generics) you're consuming about 1/3 the amount of Tylenol while getting 10mg of the good stuff .:)

As another alternative to Vicodin (besides Norco 10 and its generics) I also highly recommend Vicoprofen. It's got the same amount of Hydrocodone as a Vicodin ES tab (7.5 mg) and zero Tylenol. Instead, Vicoprofen has 200mg of Ibuprofen. Of course you don't want to overdue Ibuprofen either, but it's not as toxic as Tylenol.

good to hear you're not in much or any pain from it now but you're still not out of the woods yet. just remember to be really careful when you eat and drink and try not to do anything that can cause suction that may disturb the clots in your mouth which can lead to a dry socket (ie no spitting, using straws, drinking from a water bottle, etc)

i waited a long time to get mine out, to the point where it was just starting to hurt, mainly i just felt the pressure they were putting on my other teeth. the bottom ones ended up slightly misaligning my two bottom front teeth, sucks because now it's really hard to brush/clean in that area and is probably prone to decay now.

my advice for anyone who needs to get theirs removed is to go see an oral surgeon and not a dentist, they usually do a much better job on this kind of stuff. unfortunately oral surgeons usually charge more, but for someone like me who's terrified of having almost any kind of work done on their teeth it was well worth it. i had all 4 removed at once by an oral surgeon under twilight sedation and even though i started to come out of it before he was done it wasn't bad at all. i also didn't bleed nearly as much as any of the people i talked to about theirs, and didn't even need the vicodin i was given (although i did end up taking tylenol-3). i don't remember how much it cost but it was a lot, i think close to $3000 all together (didn't have dental insurance). probably would've been less if i hadn't waited so long to get them out, i ended up needing a bone graft where one tooth was too.

the worst thing (other than the bill) was trying to eat and having to adjust my diet for the few weeks afterwards, primarily the first week where i lived off of breakfast drinks (which were slimy and horrible), apple sauce, yogurt & ice cream, and drinkable chicken noodle and tomato soups. eating/drinking was a pain in the ass because you're not supposed to do anything that might create any sort of suction in your mouth, so i ended up just swallowing everything keeping my mouth slightly open which took a while to get used to. also my holes pussed for nearly two weeks, the taste of which still haunts me to this day..

I had mine done years ago, all I can remember is being panicked for about 5 minutes when I started bleedin' a bunch, but that passed quick, and also that the second Blues Brothers movie was on later that day. Wasn't especially painful or anything, but it does take at least months for the pits in the back of your mouth to disappear.

I will never hesitate to see a dentist when I have tooth pain again. About a year and a half ago I had an infection in a tooth that totally annihilated me. Absolutely the worst pain I have ever been in even after taking painkillers. The infection spread from the tooth to my jaw and into my ear so eventually I was incapacitated with pain, too nauseated to stand up and unable to eat because my jaw was swollen shut. On top of that when I was able to actually fall asleep, I was sweating so profusely from the fever I'd wake up after a few minutes looking like I had taken a shower. Just getting my mouth open wide enough for X-rays was so excruciating that I was screaming and in tears at the dentist on my initial visit. After ten appointments they were finally able to complete the process of root canal/crowning. After about three weeks the dizziness was finally gone and I could open my mouth wide enough to eat mashed potatoes and yogurt. I'm no longer scared to see a dentist.

Heads-up for those going to the dentist soon: There were a couple studies just done that showed redheads needed 20% more anesthetics than blondes / brunettes (both localized and general). True story apparently. If they start a drillin' and you feel it make them hit you again.
