Irem announced R-Type Tactics 2: Operation Bitter Chocolate will be coming to PSP in Japan on October 29, the game will have more units and command than the last game, and the game will have co-operative and competitive multiplayer modes over Ad-Hoc. There will be DLC after launch.

- Irem said those who reserve the game in advance will receive a bonus soundtrack CD R-Type YourBest & OurBest, and a playable demo will be available soon.
