I used to own a NEC Multisync 4PG in past, its an earlier model but nearly identical to the XM29. These monitors will accept composite sync without any problems. Look behind your monitor, there should be about 5x BNC ports one for R-G-B-H-V. You'll only need to use the first 4 ports, leave the fifth one unconnected.Arasoi wrote:Hey guys.
I just picked up Battlesmurf's NEC XM29 monitor today, popped open my supergun and Im looking to add RGB ports.
I've found the R/G/B/Ground and Composite sync lines, But Im a bit confused as to how to get the sync working as JAMMA has a combined/composite sync and the monitor has seperate H/V sync lines.
Has anyone else encountered/solved this one?

IIRC you just solder the GND wires to the outer metal frame of the BNC connectors (on your video cable).Arasoi wrote:Oh okay, awesome. So Vertical sync is unneeded. How do I wire the ground, or is that left in the supergun?
Thanks!
I'm not sure what you mean. Where are you getting "RGB 5+ V" from?Edit: Also, do I leave the RGB 5+ v unwired as well. Sorry, kind of a noob here at this particular aspect.
