Dude, you don't post news like that without linking to a source.

EDIT:

Ah, nevermind.

Indeed. Can we get some proof? I'm hopeful.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Taito only published Gigawing Generations, they did not actually port it. So why does this have to be bleh, just because Taito is publishing it?

They damn well better bring it out over here. I've managed to get by without an import PS2, thus far (for reasons related to OCD, and my requiring redundent back-up consoles, etc.), but this would likely push me over the edge.

Very cool news, glad I ordered an import PS2. 8) The vids of the game look beautiful and very faithful to the nice, scattered-bullet play of the old games.

Shame Taito's rep has been sullied a bit tho with the Strikers pack and GWG. But I don't own either so what do I know? Type X is kinda iffy too, we don't need windows bugs in arcade games. Hopefully Seibu will supervise the port closely.

Amazing news! I may have to pick-up an import PSTwo now! Except, I'm really not into Bullet hell stuff, and this is one of the only non-manic shmups on the system.

Well, only get an import PS2 again if you really feel like committing. That's a lot of money to invest.

Only yesterday, on the thread about Raiden games, I wrote something to the effect: Here's hoping for a console port of Raiden III. The next day it comes true. Pretty cool! 8)

Good point-and I seem to have trouble with consoles that are really grab bags of games, as someone aptly referred to the PS2 as.

Is 3 as hard as the others?

I reckon I must be one of the worst raiden players of all time (yet to make it off the first level on one credit :) )

The Psikyo packs aren't actually bad, just no frills and some issues about hi/low res--but they have everything you need (short of saving your high scores) to enjoy the game.

Anyway, this is AWESOME news. Man, my PS2 is SMOKIN'!!!

i played raiden 2 at a bus depot in detroit. my best was clearing the first level with a life in reserve. fastest bullets i have ever seen.

as far as 3 goes, i am interested. it looks fun, and i am no purist... when it comes to video games... mostly. :)

what about Taito Collection, Capcom Collection, Sengoku Ace, Gunbird, Sonic Wings, Shienryu, Star Soldier, Xexex, Time Pilot, Gradius 3-5, Silpheed 2, R-Type Final, Fantasy Zone, Terra&Moon Cresta, then?
Not to mention the PS1 titles...

i'd say it looks as hard or harder than the previous 2. there was a video floating around on here of the first 3 levels...and the later levels throw out some serious bullet spray.
