BTW it's modded so i guess sending it to Microsoft won't be an option.
Do you think it could be fixed with a regular RROD-fix?
I am Jack's smirking revenge.

If you are still under warranty send it in , worst case scenario is they send i back unrepaired but you still have a good chance they will just repair it .
If not do the RROD fix , i did another one tonight and it worked also , i am gonna do mine anyway because its out of warranty even if it still works good and when i buy a import Jap/Asian 360 soon i am doing the Xclamp fix and cooling mod right away and not wait for shit to happen .

Changed my mind.

That means if you want to get crazy about preventing the RROD, you can cut a big hole in the top of your case and mount 2 huge CPU coolers.

BTW, I just received my $120 JP 360 yesterday. Works like a champ and everything was totally sealed and pristine, so I have no reason to believe it was anything other than new. yeah i did that just using parts from the hardware store, to an already RROD'd 360 and it fixed it for several months, until the problem became worse and beyond my abilities to fix because it started throwing some other error.

I've come to believe that the best way to prolong your 360's life is to just keep it turned on as much as possible, so that it doesnt have to change temperature often, which is what stresses the solder (if only MS had used lead based solder)..

Once a 360 has gone once due to a solder error (get your code next time) just removing the x-clamps and over heating is a temporary fix at best, a bit like fitting a space saver to get you home.

It really needs the solder balls reflowing, and at the same time do all you can to reduce internal temperature (Talismoon fans, Fan tunnel division etc..)

Steve88 i can fix yours if you get one and it goes tits up, North London too, fear not....

I am Jack's broken heart.
I repaired a RROD 2005 one from a friend last week with a cheap Ebay repair set and was amazed it actually worked , also did a 12 volt cooling mod with fan control from 5 up to 11 volts , lapped the heat sinks and used AS 5 .
He played the hell out of it all week without probs .
It's not (yet?) a RROD. The console freezes and locks up completely a few seconds after i booted.

Does it lock up every time? Have you had any error codes yet? (red lights or onscreen)

When did you last empty the cache?

Anywhere else in the UK selling Asian Jasper 360s besides videogameimports.com? They're currently out of stock and aren't expecting any more in for at least a month.
