BWR Plus with no lag!?
BWR Plus with no lag!?
I played the other day a quickie of BWR + on a computer at work, with no lag at all. Strange thing, it's a quite old system, running XP 32-bit and the game was at 60 FPS all the way. At home, on my Vista 64-bit system with my powerfull graphics card and all, it slows down like hell (I have seen 20 FPS when things get hectic). Any comments on that?
Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
Yeah I have the same issue, with BWR+ the FPS can drops by 20 or so during some effects. I don't think it's the OS, so it's probably the graphics card. I ran it on my old computer and XP just fine too.
Well the original BWR is a lot better game anyway so it doesn't really bother me.

Tested on a second computer just now, no lag at all. It was an old one too, with XP 32-bit and a Nvidia graphics card. At home I have an ATI, maybe it's that...LtC wrote:Yeah I have the same issue, with BWR+ the FPS can drops by 20 or so during some effects. It's not a bug, it's a feature. If you don't want lag, turn "wait" off in the options menu.
Two working class dudes, one black one white, just baked a tray of ten cookies together.
An oligarch walks in and grabs nine cookies for himself.
Then he says to the white dude "Watch out for that black dude, he wants a piece of your cookie!"

BWR's FPS counter shows 60fps during 'wait' slowdowns. So that's not it.Mischief Maker wrote:It's not a bug, it's a feature. If you don't want lag, turn "wait" off in the options menu.

Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
Try setting ur vertical refreash rate (v-sync) to always on, that fixes alot of fps problems especially if u system is to powerfull for the game.
Its great for emulated old games which run at supersonic speeds
Blue wish resurrection is alot better/harder then BWR+ so if its still playing up i would switch to that instead

Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
i have the same problem, before in WinXP works fine but now in Win7 its so slow, when i dont shot the game go so fast but until to a once item appears the game down from 75 to 20FPS.
My graphic its a integer ATI HD3200 i try with the settings of CATALYST; i try with everything of 3D all in performance and special with the "wait for vertical refresh" in all position (always on, always off, etc) and dont work
Please any help? i love this game and cant play any more :'(

Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
Well, it seems it's a graphics card/driver issue. Now, with my new GeForce GTX 260 on Windows 7 64-bit I have no lag at all. That's about it. Some cards love this game, some don't.

Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
Heres some other tricks ppl can use if there old games arnt behaving properlly
setting the program to run off 1 cpu core (for multi core processors) that can help.
plus there are utilities to slow your main processor down (which are usefull for old pc games designed for slower processors) I wonder if there are gfx card gpu versions of those utilities aswell?
Theres one doujin shmup where i even had to rename all the japanese character files/folders to english to get it to work (a necessaty if your running logitech profiller)
ive never tried this myself but i wonder if turning down that slider a notch helps (that slider thats in the control panel the one you use to turn off the gfx cards features if its playing up)

Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
Before a try whit once cpu core and the same result, also i try with varied options like the compatibility with XP.
i dont think that slow down the CPU or GFX its the solution because the game go slow not fast... but.. anyway, Im desperate i will try that... any know some software for that?
in other case... i testing the BWR (not plus) and work's perfect, i must say, the option "wait" in BWRP its off and the FPS showing true the 75 and 20
Thanks for the answers!

Re: BWR Plus with no lag!?
about the v sync fix i read somewhere that it helps if you set your monitors refreash rate in this case to 60 aswell (since v sync syncronises with the monitors refreash rate)
