Another question about J360
OK, I have a US 360, and will be getting a J 360 in a few months. I would like to just use one HD(i'm broke).
Can I have a JP Account and a US Account on one HD? Also, will my U.S. XBLA games play on the JP machine without using a transfer tool? And if I use that transfer tool would they no longer be able to play on my US machine?
Just got Death Smiles in, and it saddens me that it's going to be so long to play it. Tough business.

Re: Another question about J360
Some US games will work on a JP system "as they are," but not all of them - be aware, though, that if you install a game to the HD on one system, you won't be able to play it off the HD on any other system (unless you delete and re-install it on that system), even if the game is compatible. I think you can have a JP and US account on one HD, but haven't tried it myself, someone else will have to confirm. No idea about the transfer tool (though if you have systems for both regions, why would you need it?).
Re: Another question about J360
Someone said it will work, but is frowned upon by Microsoft Live. But they wouldn't invoke a Live ban for it, right? That would be crazy.BulletMagnet wrote:Some US games will work on a JP system "as they are," but not all of them - be aware, though, that if you install a game to the HD on one system, you won't be able to play it off the HD on any other system (unless you delete and re-install it on that system), even if the game is compatible. I have a US and JP account set up on a UK system - switch between them at will. The US one's a bit useless now for DL content cos we have most of it, but the JP one occasionally surprises with some nice demo's.
Anyway, I think you can have as many accounts as you can set up - your HD should be fine on the JP system.

regarding xbla games - you can play them on any xbox as long as you are signed in on the profile you downloaded them with and are connected to xbox live - although i'm not 100% sure this will work with different region xbox's, but guess it will as demos downloaded from the japanese marketplace work ok on a uk machine. on the xbox the games are downloaded to in the first place you can play them on any profile and offline.
about the transfer tool - i guess you mean the drm tool on the web site (and not the cable that copies the data between 2 hdd's) - you need to use this if you want to transfer the dlc licences between 2 xboxes which then allows the games to be played offline and by any account on the new xbox - you have to re-download some stuff though (just the keys i think) - but again i'm not sure about this being done between different region xbox's
good luck!

Will U.S. Xbox Original downloads work on a J360? I want to download NGB on it since it's in English.

Re: Another question about J360
Didn't really answer my question. I know that U.S. XBLA games will work on a Jap console, but I don't know if the "xbox originals" will.

Most original Xbox games are region-locked, too.
Don't hold grudges. GET EVEN.

What are "Xbox originals"? Do you mean for the old console? I'm curious about this as well.Specineff wrote:Most original Xbox games are region-locked, too.

Oh, I get it. You know how you can download the Xbox Halo 2 on your 360 from the Marketplace? That's what he means.

I guess this isn't very well known.
