Molex connector for New Astro city
Does anyone know the website or part number for the 12 hole molex connector that joins the joystick and buttons to the CP?
One of my Astro's has absolutely no 2 player controls at all. Therefore I need this molex connector and I'm finding it hard to source.
I tried chad at Lizardlick, but he didn't actually reply to that part of the email and I don't see it on his website, although some kind of Nintendo harness has what looks like the part i'm looking as part of it.
Any help would be grateful.
regards,
Richie.

and you'll need a special crimper for the molex pins...i found my ratcheting crimper online for about $20. try not to spend too much more than that if you don't have one already.jonny5 wrote:akihabarashop has them....

I just used a flat plier with mine, but perhaps that's another kind of pins, as my connector was for my EGRET II.brokenhalo wrote:and you'll need a special crimper for the molex pins...i found my ratcheting crimper online for about $20. try not to spend too much more than that if you don't have one already.jonny5 wrote:akihabarashop has them....

those guys. you can't really get away with crunching them down with pliers cause the 2 crimped sections have to be crimped from a letter "U" shape to a letter "C" shape. you can kinda make it out in those pics.

Not the same type of pins that I had for my EGRET/AWSD connector. Perhaps mine isn't Molex, but JST?brokenhalo wrote:those guys. you can't really get away with crunching them down with pliers cause the 2 crimped sections have to be crimped from a letter "U" shape to a letter "C" shape. you can kinda make it out in those pics.

The connectors are AMP UP type.
You'll have a hard job doing it without the right crimping tool - unless the crimps are accurate you can't get the pins in the connector.
Buy the whole loom and save yourself the hassle?

I made that picture a while ago, the updated version with correct name and an instruction sheet for the connectors can be found here:

I'm 80% sure the "kick" pinout is only correct for European naomi cabinets.

No reply from Segashed.
Does anyone have a pre-crimpled molex with wires on it? I'll pay something for it.

Keep in mind that he's probably still busy with IC '09 related stuff.neorichieb1971 wrote:No reply from Segashed.
