New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
Yep, my first post as a real boy and not a lurking guest.
I noticed today that on the CAVE wikipedia page http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cave_%28company%29 there's an entry for "Touhou: Gorgeous World" It was added on July 21st. Now I've been to the CAVE site, and don't see anything listed (but my Japanese is very limited) But I'm curious as the Touhou series of PC shooting games are fairly popular.
A collaboration between CAVE and ZUN would be pretty big news wouldn't it? Anyone else heard anything?
(edit: added the wikipedia page in question)

Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
I checked Cave's official website, and I see no information on Touhou: Gorgeous World anywhere on it.
Another thing is that you found your information on Wikipedia which, unless it's sourced, is not completely reliable. It may be a working project that only has a few unknown sources, or it could just be the workings of an anonymous user adding random information just for the hell of it. Either way, I would take that information with a grain of salt until we get more information on the subject matter.

Did a some sleuthing, the IP that posted the information traces back to Boca Raton FL. It was edited over two days, the first to add the game. The next day to add the subtitle Gorgeous World.Aru-san wrote:I checked Cave's official website, and I see no information on Touhou: Gorgeous World anywhere on it.

Hopefully it's not a prank. Anything new from CAVE would be nice.
Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
hah. I doubt it's real.
Besides even if it was it wouldn't have anything to do with Touhou Project by ZUN.

Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
A combination of CAVE and ZUN was awesome, but unrealistic if you ask me. And why the hell would this kind of information pop up on a page like Wikipedia.COM for the first time anyway?

Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
I really doubt this is true... Cave doesn't need help making awesome games. Least of all Zun's help. Any collaboration would only lead to a great game byTouhou standards but a crappy game by Cave standards.

If anything the person is probably an idiot who thinks Cave makes Touhou games.jonny5 wrote:its wikipedia people...come on.....wake up![]()

Now then, does anyone know how to add "[Citation Needed]" to this page?

Yep, that pretty much sums it up. I thought it would be interesting to at least bring it up for discussion.jonny5 wrote: facepalm
The guy who edited the page at least came up with a name for a Touhou game that sounds realistic but doesn't exist yet. And there _is_ supposed to be another Touhou game announced at Comic Market 76.
Sorry, I accept the newbie cap and will go sit in the corner

welcome to shmups.

Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
The title sounds like some retarded Western fangame. It's things like this that cause everyone to hate Wikipedia!
Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
omg guys cave totally ripped off toohoo.
Re: New cave gave listed on Wikipedia, shooter?
Touhou production has been shut down due to a shortage of molasses, in which every bullet must be thoroughly coated

Yeah, wikipedia is totally the 1st place good JP gaming news pops up.
On a realistic note, this reminds me I've been meaning to scan some stuff out of my old Arcadia mags, including concept art for a character in one of Cave's new (back then) games, which never came out. I believe it would have been either right before or right after Ketsui and and think it was a dude wearing sunglasses. Too bad we never got to see Cave's would be Mad Max shmup.

I picture something like Capcom vs. SNK, except it would be loli vs. other kind of loli and it won't happen.

Well, Japhei did do all that advising on the creation of Ikaruga or whatever the hell it was - maybe he's making this one for Cave, funded by Icy.
In fact, that's probablyexactly what's happening. No doubt about it.
EDIT: And nikkos010 - don't worry about posting something like this as a first post. Why not draw the forum's attention to it? Welcome to the forum!

Seeing that topic title sure did a good job of making me confused for a second. o_0
Coming to think of it, such a game could have become a successful project for Cave since Touhou has a very large userbase in Japan, and bringing one of the games over to arcades could prove economically profitable for every party involved. Some work would be needed to tweak modes, probably around a Raizing-style difficulty set (eg., Normal which ends after stage 4, Hard as default difficulty, and Lunatic instead of "Harder").
Also, for some reason I haven't been able to connect to Wikipedia (as well as a couple other sites) the last couple days. :\
