I had no problem with feeders at the show. While essentially the game selection was of the hardcore variety, and this was due to people kindly loaning their PCB wares (27 were mine), the show was for all comers. There were a few kids and adults sitting down and playing games they'd not usually play. I would expect those guys to bomb through the entire first stage of Dodonpachi.
Because we had a half mile of candies there were no problems with queuing etc, which meant everybody could play the way they wanted. It was a big success for both veterans and newcomers to the scene.
My highlights were getting the Daiffukatsu high score, then smashing it again in succession only for Raedis to turn up for a go, exclaiming that I'd beaten his score. I said to Icarus, "we'll go back in ten minutes and I bet he's beaten it." Ten minutes later and he had nearly doubled it. That guy has a magic shmup brain.
Also had a good survival run on Espgaluda on my only go at the show, making it to the last stage. It was only really a highlight because I haven't played the game in about 2 years.
Unfortunately I spent a shitload of time fixing cab problems at request of the attendees.
But Christian from AO kindly lent me DS Mega Black Label PCB after the show, so I've got it for about 6 weeks before I am to bring it to you Del to get installed in the one and only Casino.
Was an amazing weekend, I miss hanging out with the gamer crowd already!
