SFIV was totally awesome.

Seriously folks, tune into finals this year. Epic internet broadcasting. I plan to be drunk at 10 am in the morning here!

HD remix? :\ Do they have an ST (or anniversary?) competition also or is it completely replaced by HDR? I don't usually follow it but now that you've reminded me maybe I will.

BBH lost against Valle. The commentators had it confused because of their initial seating position and the fact that Valle chose dic in the previous match. There's an ST cab being provided by CigarBoB; we'll probably hear how the ST team tourneys went. If the rumors are true, since HDR made out with the second-most entries this year, we may be seeing this game again. I'd prefer ST but I can't argue with numbers.

I was on the fence about Evo this year and decided to go towards the end but I got screwed. Basically, after I paid for my plane tickets online around 2 weeks ago, I didn't get a confirmation email. I wasn't sure if it went through so I called back but they took 2 days to get to me, saying that the payment wasn't correctly processed by the web site and that they can't reproduce the original price. And by that time tickets were up $120+ for the same flights/rooms so I had to resign myself to not going. I'm definitely planning to attend next year though.

ah i see, well even though he lost BBH did well :)

definitely would like to see you at evo next year mate. you obviously made the right move with learning sf4 and hd:r (although this is a shame if evo drops ST from here on :| ).

the side tournies sound pretty cool. xmen vs SF, watson vs daigo, and bob's ST 3-on-3. i heard kuni is playing, should be good :o

sorry to hear about your troubles with the plane tickets :(

There's only so much SF4 I can take before throwing up, but I did watch it for 3 hours yesterday. My favorite was that perfect victory El Fuerte had. Can't remember who it was against or what character it was against, but it was pretty sweet.

having a family and living on the other side of the planet made it hard to watch that much of EVO :( Just turned it on this morning to MISS the last goddamn game. Heard the crowd go wild over Daigos win and that was it, DAMMIT

anywho, IGN insider is $15 bucks next week and it will have all the matches for download in HD, so I will be getting that. Anyone see how Ed Ma did in top 8?

watched a few SF IV pool matches friday. Saw an awesome teleporting Sim player. Craziest shit ive ever seen. Player name was Korean something or other. besides that I caught the a 2 hour break saturday and Soul calibur IV finals sunday evening.

Not that exciting so I saw next to nothing

EDIT:
just saw that Ed Ma lost to Daigo in the winners finals, then proceded to lose to Justin Wong in the loser finals. That would make him 3rd. I think thats his highest at evo ever. Good job

Watched bits of it through the weekend. SFIV finals were sweet, even though I don't play the game.

I did watch a few matches (the MvC2 and SFIV finals mostly.) Even though I usually have little interest in actually playing fighters (and even less skill), I find it interesting to watch people who know what they're doing.

I really enjoyed watching some GGAC matches. Really high-level GG play is so friggin impressive!

Also I was surprised that Soul Calibur made an appearance. Doesn't strike me as the deepest fighter. I really hope that Virtua Fighter made an appearance (did it?) because if any 3D fighter deserves to be there that one does.

Thanks! Yeah even though I lost at least I didn't get raped hardcore. All my tournament losses were pretty close, actually. I ended up getting 9th in HDR and 17th in SF4, which was a pretty good showing I think :)

EVO was an amazing experience in general, the energy in the room during SF4 finals was craaaaazy.
