I guess you mean RGB SCART. You have to hack a us TV to get RGB, or convert to component. Look around for a video production monitor by Sony or NEC for RGB in the US, or get an arcade monitor.

Ok thanks! I'm always interested in obscure European consoles, and the Amstrad GX4000 has caught my eye. You can use RF with that system, but I don't know if it would work on a US-NTSC TV.

It would not work since your standard of RF is much different to ours. The connector would not even fit.

Best bet is to buy a SCART to component converter. They are not cheap though. I have one, but have not tested it for years.

A 1084S will take SCART with no problems by itself; you just need to build an adapter for the cable.

Tried many things, ended up getting a XAV-2s, and a hacked Euro > JP scart cable and just did S-video since that's the best I could get for Mega Drive and PC-engine.

Has anyone succeeded in feeding 240p RGB through a transcoder, without scaling or doubling, into component video inputs? Would it likely matter if the television were capable of resolutions beyond 480i?

This question isn't about the capabilities of an XRGB, but about the capabilities of a TV. There are "dumb transcoders" which do nothing more than colorspace conversion (and collapsing sync into Y if necessary), and that's what I'd like to try.

I have my eye on a SD JVC at a Salvation Army, and this would seal the deal . . .
