Metamorphic Force region change

I own a western region Metamorphic Force pcb that I'd like to change into a jp region one.

I changed the eproms, the game starts, romtest goes ok, but then it displays a "version error".

Is this some kind of protection? Does anybody know a way to change the region on this board?

Maybe you need to hold down the test button while powering up the PCB? There are several Konami games that require that procedure.

Yep, you have to initialize the EPROM. Hold the test switch while powering up.

Just wanted to chime in and say that this also worked for a Xexex rom swap. (hold test button on the PCB).

I just did this change and can confirm you that just holding the test switch will do the trick.
