Interesting thing I have read, scientists say that it would be almost impossible for bugs to be as big as the ones in say, Starship Troopers (or Mushihime). Because even if they could reach that size, their weight/proportion multiplied mathematically would render them immobile somehow (again, it's assumed). That's what some scientists have said anyways. Maybe someone here can elaborate on this better.
years of watching random crap on tv pays off yet again. iirc the main problem was the exoskeleton. scaled up, it would either be too heavy or too thick, and the space left for muscles and stuff wouldnt be able to support itself, and the thickness would screw with the air holes. or something. if the shell was thinned down, then it wouldnt be strong enough to support the insides.
Thanks, that is really interesting and iirc pretty much what I read, though i forgot a lot of it so this is some nice extra detail.

Thanks for the clarification. Does it say anything about TATE on the game mode page?
Does not, but I'd bet my house it's included.

Yeah, something about surface area increasing quadratically while volume increases cubically. Respiration would be a huge problem added to not being able to support their own weight..

While on the topic of bugs, I saw this show about the future Earth once humans are gone on the Discovery Channel. The future Earth have these giant spiders living in the mountains that would spin webs between valleys, and catching whatever unlucky enough to fly by.

Does anyone know if anywhere other than PA have mushi for pre-order? It strikes me as odd that NCS haven't even mentioned it, or lik-sang either.

For you, of course, the boxers would have to say "Cap'n's Log" on the front.

Oh dear God, here I go again...

The reason they don't is b/c the distributor hasn't added it to the list yet. I'm sure NCX and the other guys are more traditional in their catalogue, in that they won't add an item to be pre-ordered unless they have specifics on it (price, weight, etc.) from the distributor. I order from a shop directly in Japan, and they say that they don't have it ready for pre-order yet, but probably will. As it's not going to be a huge release, they will most likely be selling it for retail. :(

NCSX have now posted Mushihime-sama in their pre-order section.

$55.00 US for the regular edition
$68.00 US for the limited edition

$55 is very reasonable for the standard pack.

Yeah, Galuda came with a wee flyer of I think pretty much every modern cave game in mobile phone form.

How on earth you play them properly is a mystery.

As far as I know NCSX charge out of their asses for shipping, so one might want to consider Play Asia as they have some really cheap shipping options. I'm surprised to see that NCSX is cheaper on the actual game than PA though.

All of the shipping options for all import shops sucks ass. Play Asia has $3.50 shipping but it takes forever. Takes me two weeks to get anything from them.

Newsflash: import gaming has always been expensive and/or delayed.

I buy from play-asia. and have them ship express UPS. 3 days and my stuff is here - fully tracked.

UPS is too rich for my blood, plus it means an automatic extra 38% in import duties so I always go with the airmail box thingy.

But I wouldn't say importing is automatically expensive. At least not for me. Buy your average crappy PAL action game in a B&M store, it'll set you back $80. That's what I'm paying for the LE Mushihime, and if they're not LE versions, they're usually less than $65 shipped. And then you can subtract $5 with a PA coupon :)

I've got a coupon, so P-A and NSCX are the same price. Which one has cheaper/faster shipping to the US?

It shouldn't take two weeks for something to go from HK to Hawaii, even if it's shipped via mainland. It takes that long for me to ship stuff to my sister in Croatia. Barely developed, perfectly across the world, and heavily checked/taxed for imports.

I shipped only... 1000 or so packages from Japan over a 5 year span. 1 CD cased game for 330 yen usually makes it to the mainland in 5 days... 7 tops. EMS for 1200 yen makes it in 3. A PS2 game is only a fraction more.

Is there some genetic inefficiency in the HK region that makes them horrible at posting things?

I think NCSX, however you can check by 'checking out' on the item and nearly but not completely completing the order, if that makes any sense ;)

I don't think the problem is located in HK. Usually a thing takes me 3 weeks for me to arrive at my house but the stuff is in Italy after 1/2 days via airmail! So where is the inefficiency? I don't really know...

I don't use tracking but the US is pretty good about not holding on to packages (especially really small ones) for longer than they have to. I would never say that anything in Hawaii is efficient, but I don't think the slowdown is on this side of the pond.

Play Asia also charges less for a lot of games and hardware-a Japanese PSTwo, for example, is plenty more expensive at NCSX then it is at Play Asia.

Play-Asia cheaper shipping. NCSX faster shipping. Your choice.
