Once you've beaten the game, hoard some money, sell all your weapons and then buy 11 lv5 missiles. Spraying missiles everywhere looks great and they tear everything apart.

Finding that I do best running through some stages -> upgrading -> rinse & repeat
So what I did was I sold all the basic shots and got just one mostly-upgraded level four homing in return, whoops, red seizureland
Easy to recover by just buying a bunch of unupgraded homing missiles. Yep, game's broken

Bought the mute button before sound and good thing too, shit is terrible

They have the Toaplan weapon balance backwards, i.e. homing lightning does more damage than shot, lulz

Shot goes below the ship, other weapons I put above (limited engagement range especially at lower levels).

Just cover your ship in normal guns, you'll blaze through everything. And they don't cost much.

Strange bug: managed to place an item outside the red box, into where the play button was, never got it out...

Also, I got 100% and I hadn't upgraded everything...

Nah, normal guns don't do nearly as much damage. Unlike Toaplan, in this game lazier = MORE POWERFUL. Homing is the most damaging / time for chrissake!

Update: actually you're right, swapping out three homing for shots made all the dif-ference, in the world

Need some homing though if you only have one main engine (like me, since I sold my second - also have one coin catcher positioned just above the catch spot).

Edit: re-arranged the shots into four little Space Invaders bunker-looking pyramids of three (lol) but #20 still ain't going down.

Edit #2: lol, you have to upgrade the graphics to beat the game. Doesn't work on the standard level or the second level. Passed the second to last level of graphics. Easy to beat the game, everything else was the same.

First game I've seen where changing the graphics makes the game easier (not talking about frame rate hackery)...lmao

Edit #3: 1646 seconds, DONE (I don't know why I did that other than to see the mysterious other ending you don't have to pay for Twiddle mentioned)
Like how the "HDR-enabled" bloom graphics make the game easier.

Whut graphics level? Homing missiles were terrrrrible for me (despite what I said earlier) and magnet (sticks to lobster) doesn't help out firepower. Cool strategy though.

I actually rather enjoyed that. For some reason, I don't mind the poor, err, non-existent level design and graphics effects that keep me from seeing what's going on when there's so much cool stuff to collect. It's like R-Type Final all over again!

It's ironic really, since it's more about proving a point regarding over-the-top upgrade systems than anything else...! i did enjoy it though, although i never managed to get one of the achievements for some bizarre reason.
