Some ready-to-run RC kits have the easy of electric Li-Po battery setup...if you get the right matched cell racing Li-Po battery packs, racing Li-Po electronic speed controller and special Li-Po battery charger setup, they can run just as fast or even faster than a gas-powered RC vehicle with super long running times of 15-20 minutes nonstop. Plus if you gear up the RC vehicle right with a Li-Po setup, it's possible to reach speeds of up to 70mph! That's insane, especially for RC kits nowdays!

The technological progression of the RC hobby nowdays wasn't like that back in the grassroots era of the early to late 1980s when all you had to deal with a crappy seven cell Ni-Cad battery pack to get maybe 25-40mph tops with a modified electric motor setup and a racing electronic speed controller with huge MOSFET-type heatsink in place. Yep, those were the days when the RC hobby was still in it's infancy. I'm amazed at how far along it has progressed to what it is today. ^_~

You can definitely see how far electrics have come lately, but since my brothers (and soon my Dad) are all big-time gearheads they're all running nitro, so I wentt in that direction (although I understand there's been a fair bit of improvement on that side of things too.) I'm obviously new to RC (well, serious RC anyway) so I have a fair bit to learn, but I foujnd good electrics to be considerably more expensive than nitro (for example, the brushless electric version of the Revo goes for a good $200 more than the nitro version I got.) Of course, electrics also probably have a lower operating cost (at least once you have all the batteries anyway) since glow fuel is fairly expensive stuff, and you also have glow plugs. air filters and the like that need to be replaced on occasion. Up at the high end there's also the gasoline-powered RCs (like the HPI Baja series) that are much more expensive up front, but can run on 2-stroke gas/oil mix which brings down the operating costs considerably (as long as you don't break stuff.)

I'm not quite done with the "buying things needed to run a Japanese console in Europe" ordeal, but somewhere in the €500 ballpark with Live points for MBL and shipping. This is a 60GB unit, mind you. Just waiting for some stuff until I can actually hook it up and play. It's too damn hot right now anyway.

The stuff I ordered about 2 weeks ago arrived today. It's the entire Eureka Seven DVD set, of which I bought the special edition boxes for volumes 1 and 7 because they come with the boxes to hold the DVDs in, as well as the 2 shirts, 2 OSTs, and 2 volumes of the manga as a bonus. I also picked up the Kare Kano OSTs I've been looking a long time for now. So all in all, 12 DVDs, 2 shirts, 4 OSTs, and 2 volumes of manga for under $70 (an online store was having a huge sale)

How are the extra bonuses included with the Blazblue PS3 game disc, Robotron?

And does Gamestop sell the 1st print edition of Blazblue in their retail stores or was it an exclusive pre-order item to begin with?

Some of the asking prices for one new and sealed are getting quite high. NCSX has mentioned that the 2nd print edition of Blazblue will not include any of the cool extras that the 1st print edition has -- so that means it's best to buy one to save having to pay dearly later. ^_~

Care to write a little commentary on how Blazblue plays, Robotron?

Extra bonus disc is well worth it, not only do you get a storyline (well..) you also get a very helpful tutorial for those of you that never played a GGX type game.

Yes Gamestop does sell the limited edtion w/ Bonus disc...and if my information is correct, that's all retailers have right now. The single disc game is not out yet. (strange)

BlazBlue plays like most GGX games except more complex...if you were any good with GGX and expect the same, get ready for a rude awakening...this one throws a lot more into the game, I mean a sh*tload. it takes much explaining to go into detail (more than i care to type here). all i can say if your a fighting game enthusiast, i reccomend it. if not, well don't buy it.

i hope this helps.

Thank you for your insightful comments into BlazBlue, Robotron. ^_~

Yeah, I do have the proper PS3 arcade sticks, namely the Hori RAP-3 and the Sega Virtua Stick High Grade for them fighting games. Called up a couple of Gamestops in my area and one had a copy that wasn't reserved. Snagged it quickly as I already know that once the 1st printing edition of BlazBlue sells out, that's it. ^_~

Was a real pain finding mine here in Quebec City, since the Limited Edition doesn't have a bilingual outercase/manual which always spells trouble. (There are people patrolling stores and removing -more confiscating- anything that is not at least bilingual... That's how they try to preserve French) I've called 4 places that told me they wouldn't get it until July 29th. The 5th store, quite a big one, I called were supposed to receive a whopping 2 copies, and one was reserved. Other ended up being mine.

Quite fun, rather complex so far. The extra disc is really, really worth it, especially since it's free. Were it not free, I think I'd pay for it anyways just to get a hang of things. The strategies explained for each character are quite complex, quite more than SFIV to be honest (which I've played to hell and back), mainly because of the abundance of moves for each characters. The combos are rather intuitive to perform, though. I've only played with Ragna, Arakune (favourite of mine) and Jin so far. What struck me when I first played was the speed of the characters (thought they were very slow), but once you play more you realize that it's all about dashes/rolls etc.

Beautiful game, too. Very pleased so far.

Wow, u guys lucked out finding one. The Gamestop near me had one copy...ONE. I grabbed it. While the staff were running my credit card they musta got several calls for people looking for one as far as Auburn Hills (1 hour drive in good traffic). Their policy was they could not reserve it, first come first serve.

I was first.

I designed the layout, and had it modded by another person since I don't have any of the tools.
Dual PCB mod with PSX and 360 PCBs, so it will work on PS1/PS2/PS3(w/ converter)/PC/360.
