How do you enter a town in Actraiser 2??...

Post by dave4shmups »

I've tried and tried, and tried to enter a town, while emulating this game, but I just can't do it! How do you do this, or is there just a bug with the emulator? I've even read FAQ's on the game, but I still can't seem to enter a town, and so find how this game really plays. :? :(

If you're looking for a town like there was in Actraiser (the first one), you can look forever - as there isn't any in this game! This game is just an action platformer, there are no other types of gameplay in it.

I enjoy it because of the music, but preferred the first game, as I really dug the simulation parts.

I know all that, but how do I enter an area where I can experience the action-plaforming of this game??

I think it's 'A'.

When you are over a level, you will see the name of the level displayed.

Once you select town/area a menu should appear, select fight on the screen and it'll take you to the action.

No RPG elements in this one. It's pure platform. Enjoyable game, though I liked the first one better.

I'm the opposite, I never enjoy town-building/strategy games; that's what kept me away from the Dark Cloud series when I had my PS2-I just want to hack it up! 8)

Be prepared to finagle with the hit detection for awhile, heh. Though oddly enough, despite the game's reputation, I actually have finished it on "Normal," which, of course, means that anyone can, heh.

No problem

Bullet Magnet- Yeah thte hit detection is abit hit or miss, I myself couldn't really get into it or the rather useless wing gliding.

I might have to fire this up again in an emulator.

Sorry about that, I just assumed that you thought this was like the first game.

I wasn't fond of the town building either. I just liked the first game's platforming and bosses better - though both are great games (and have excellent music).
