Oh I think ODST will be awesome! Check out these demo videos from IGN:Diabollokus wrote:Just stay the fukk away from the 360 prequel Perfect Dark Zero, 9 out of 10 reviews are very misleading. Huge dissapointment at time of purchase.
Personally
H3>H1>H2 campaign wise. Hopefully ODST will be awesome.

Looks sweet! I'm excited for Reach, too, but that's not coming out until 2010.
Ok, what about Doom 64? Is there any point in getting that when you can get Doom 1+2 on the Doom 3 Collector's edition for XBOX?

Very cool, thanks for the info!nZero wrote:Doom 64 is a completely different game to Doom 1 & 2. Different levels, redrawn graphics, redesigned weapons and monsters.

I'd love to trade in Halo 1+2, but GameStop no longer takes XBOX games, and a local chain out here called GameForce was supposedly shut down-they got sued by MS for selling Gears of War 2 eight days early, and they also got audited by the IRS.
We do have Play N Trade out here, though.

Ok, thanks for the tip! I'm a below-average gamer, though, so I don't know that I want to keep Halo 1+2 and try them on Legendary!Diabollokus wrote:Dave if you plays 3's campaign crank the difficulty past normal on your first playthrough. You can practically run through the game on normal, even solo legendary just takes patience and is quite fun.

Halo 3 is my favorite. It was short, but I felt it had the most epic battles. I'm also one of the rare weirdos that vastly prefers fighting the Brutes to fighting the Elite (fuck recharging shields).
From what I've seen, Halo ODST looks to be the answer for people wishing for more Halo: Combat Evolved. Which, I too though Halo 1 was better than Halo 2.

Thanks for the input, jp! What I liked most about 2 was the sheer variety of weapons-is 3 as good, in this regard? Does the energy sword make a comeback?

A few new weps in H3 and 2 new grenade types. Assault rifle is back, dual needler removed. Sword is less dangerous as lock on range is greatly decreased. Big thing is the new vehicles and the introduction of 'equipment'. I'm saying no more as I don't want to spoil anything, brute weaponry is more prominent now also. I like killing elites/dinosaurs they make that 'Gwarrrrrhhh' noise whenever you kill them.
PS: I'm in the COD4 mile high club!!! took me like 200 atempts, did one shot 1 kill aswell at the ferris wheel.

Re: Finally beat Halo (1) today!!....
So this past weekend, I traded in some XBOX games and got Painkiller: Hell Wars, and Return to Castle Wolfenstein. I LOVE these games, because while they both have stories, they aren't that important, and you just run around like mad and blast enemies! Way more fun for me then either Halo 1 or 2 were.
BTW, what Turok games should I get on the N64, and what ones should I avoid?

Turok the first was a good game, on computer anyway. Turok 2 as I found out within the last year seems like a really boring ass game, so my advice is avoid Turok 2 and find Turok 1.dave4shmups wrote:BTW, what Turok games should I get on the N64, and what ones should I avoid?

Turok 1 is way better than all of its sequels. I love the game, and I don't usually even like FPS aside from a small handful (Half life, halo 1, perfect dark, and a couple others). I will always remember THE CHRONOSCEPTER as the most awesome weapon ever.

@Dave4shmups
Regarding PDZ, I disliked many aspects of the single player campaign. Multiplayer was probably the only thing that saved it from a critique perspective. Poor AI, plot and character development. Weapons were interesting but nothing stands out for me, bare in mind it was a 360 release game surrounded in fan hype so my expectations were high but not satisfied by any means. There is an FPS thread should you wish to enquire further regarding non-halo based FPS.
You are wise to avoid XBL by buying an arcade version.

Yeah, the arcade model's also the cheapest, and I've heard that MS did actually put in some internal memory-so you aren't just using memory cards, or whatever they are called on the 360.Diabollokus wrote:@Dave4shmups

Could you please provide a link to that FPS thread? Thanks!
