Go back and listen to "Dangerous" his album with Remember the Time, Black and White, and Jam... reminds me of growing up watching TV until nothing was on then playing the 16-bit systems when they were brand new. No one remembers that album as fondly because everyone had moved on to Nirvana or Boyz II Men, but it's nearly just as genius. Although what I really love about the album is how chaotic all the non-singles tracks sound... glass breaking and different melodies wrestling to be mixed to the front. It was a really overproduced album and the sound somehow aged even worse than the 80's albums despite being a 90's one, but it was done in such a way that it made it really experimental and layers on layers of creepy. Kind of like plastic surgery.

Ah, memories. Dangerous was my first CD (back when buying even one CD was kind of a big deal). I think it was his best album, Bad next, and Thriller in 3rd.

I remember listening to MJ's "Bad" LP as a kid .. rented from the local library, on an old record player my dad owned.

At least I got to experience him when he was somewhat cool .. :/

I still don't believe the molestation claims although I do believe he was probably acting somewhat inappropriately. At any rate, it's all over now - he could have left a legacy like that of Elvis, if it hadn't been for all the bizarre events, but I think he'll still be remembered fondly overall.

Whatever claims there may have been of child molestation (which I also do not believe), everyone in Michael Jackson's personal life had nothing but good things to say about him. Easygoing, generous, loving, and not to mention smart. His kids are apparently very well behaved and intelligent, which I feel says a lot. Although I certainly think he was a bit nutty, I suspect he was harmlessly so.

Agreed. While he's done a few strange things in his time, it's probably just part of a quirky, somewhat eccentric personality. The people who have known him personally have always said positive things about him, from being a generous friend to being a great father. The few bad things that have happened are more likely to be blown up due to his level of fame and status.

The sad thing is that he's just as likely to be known for the bad things he's associated with and done, as he is known for the spectacular concerts he's put on and the things he's done for the music industry.

Probabally not, he just ended up buying everything in sight. He had a spending problem that put pretty much everyone else on the planet to shame. He actually died close to $500m in debt.

Watched Michael Jacksons video " Thriller " yesterday on MTV.

Even aranged as a zombie he looked better in this video than after
all the surgery in the follwing years .

Knowing that he is dead and see him dancing with the dead/ zombies
in this video - well - a little bit creepy ...

After his death he might or surely will become a similar legend like
Elvis, James Dean or John Lennon. And people who called him a
pervert ( don´t know if he was or nut - it´s not me to judge )
and made fun of him and his life will now buy this records and

Oh dear lord! +1 dude This was the first album I had bought with my own money saving up pocket money and getting it on day of release. It is fantastic. The guy had great producers working with him and he was always trying to do something different.

Dangerous was just about the first CD I ever knowingly listened to. My Dad bought it the same day he got his first CD player, along with a Mike Oldfield compilation and God's Great Banana Skin by Chris Rea. I was a big fan back then, all my friends were too.

Heh, don't get me wrong, I like some of his songs too (though I was first made aware of several of them via Weird Al's parodies, go figure), but I was never particularly "into" MJ's music, not to the point where I could call myself a fan - truth be told, of course, I'm really not much of a music fan in general (I own few albums as it is, and no iPod, not to mention that few of the CDs on my shelf are more recent than 1975 or so), so I'm far from the average commentator as it is, heh heh.
