It's got lolis, so it'll sell, and there will be demand.

Well, it pay off this time. I success in buying a LE at a local retail store for USD 74.74 just a moment ago saving USD 20, if I were to pre-order it through Play-Asia.

The 360 version of Senko No Ronde has much better graphics than the arcade version, if that's the one you were thinking of.

My order shipped. If anyone has some decent pictures of the LE I'd appreciate it, since I can't find any.

I love that art. Not a big G.Rev fan, but this could be the game to turn me.

Game is pretty fun so far. There's a lot of characters to choose from, a gallery to unlock, and the scoring mechanic works well. Should keep me busy for awhile. One thing: there's a pretty long load when you boot up the game even with the game installed. Probably 15 seconds or so. Nothing too bad tho.

Somewhere, a Japanese guy is taking a picture of... say, 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand, right on top of a Big Mac. Check it out, DUDES!

Really curious to hear the impressions of this game as peoples orders begin to show up. The footage from Inside Talk and other junk on Xbox Live has looked very... all over the place.

Was discussing this game with a co-worker today and I wonder if Grev wouldn't have made some money porting this to the Wii. True, the game is a danmaku shooter at its heart, but it's almost an adventure game in how you can choose which way the screen scrolls and the multiple routes through a level. It has accessible easier difficulty settings which could just be made the defaults or something.

It just seems like a shame that a game like this isn't available on a system kids play, like the Wii, or the American/European 360. Could get more of the younger crowd interested in shooters.

You could say the exact same thing about Death Smiles but that doesn't mean it would attract a larger crowd on the Wii.

Death Smiles seems more Goth/Emo/Touhou-friendly, which is part of the target demographic of the 360, I believe. :(

On the Wii, it'd seem kind of out of place. Well, until the black model comes out or something.

Eh, Kikikaikai World is the closest type of game to this and I think it bombed on the Wii. Sure, this game is much, much better than Kikikaikai World, but there doesn't appear to be that sort of audience on the Wii for whatever reason.

Good point. Still, I'd be curious about the Kikikaikai numbers. Mamoru-kun won't do more than 30k all told I'd say, on most systems that's a weak performance. I'd be pretty surprised if it would do worse on Wii, but then again license fees are apparently pretty high on Wii and 3rd parties tend to avoid it for that reason.

it'll be interesting to see what proportion of this (and DS) sales are from the limited edition.

Given that people buying are probably in to shooters enough to spend the extra, then it's a straight forward way to sell this at 8800 yen+

I really like the whole special edition thing for games like this, so hope it's a trend that continues for jpn shooters.

It's Mizuki Takayama. When combined with Shuji Sogabe, the art looks like Senko no Ronde. However, when she's left alone, the art looks like the two examples I just gave.

Lol, she just put up a new illustration on her blog:

EDIT:

She also has a penchant for drawing lingerie, so don't freak out if you see some of her art with girls wearing nothing but that. It's all clean though.

I was surprised to find that there was no LE for Shiki 3, especially after LEs for Shiki 1 & 2.

Well this is co-developed by G.Rev and Gulti so who knows what was really done by G.Rev and how big their influence was?
