R-Type/Gradius/Thunder Force Hybrid?

So are there any shmups where your ship has a force device (like R-Type) AND a choice of selectable power-up acquired weapons (ike Gradius and Thunder Force)?

That G-Type is EXACTLY what I'm talking about.
Unfortunately I've got to run it on Wine (cos I'm Linux only here) so there's no sound and no fullscreen.
So anything similar for MAME or console?

Xexex is kind of Konami's take on a Force pod shooter. Make sure to play the Japan version if you check it out.

Yes-we're getting warmer now.Weirdly I played X-Multiply for the first time last night and loved the "tentacles".
Xexex is nearly there, but you can't choose between weapons on the fly.
What a fantastic game though..
