I really should stop reading Youtube comments, it always ends with me feeling slightly depressed.
This is how it works in Mushi as well. Though I believe the bonus is calculated differently (no miss streak/stage number).sikraiken wrote:I don't know how Mushi works, but once you no miss a stage in DDP, you start getting a bonus again, even if you've already died on a previous stage.
Re: Cleared dodonpachi without shooting
Mushihimesama is not Dodonpachi. DDP has lots of enemies that fly straight at you and home in on you. I believe that there are some sections of the game in which it is impossible to beat without shooting. But please, if anyone can prove me wrong, I'd like to see it.Dave_K. wrote:For those that say its impossible, its already been done in Mushihemesama as evidenced by the nomiss 0 scores on the arcade highscore website (homeing enemy an all).
With some games, it is possible. Most Psikyo games for instance, you can no-shoot and 1cc it if you're good enough, at least those games where you can't be killed by ramming an enemy.
I believe Raizing games are mostly impossible to no-shoot, too, I tried with Garegga and Batrider and there are just too many enemies that try and ram you.

What about Bakraid? If charge beam doesn't count as shooting it could be possible.kengou wrote:I believe Raizing games are mostly impossible to no-shoot, too, I tried with Garegga and Batrider and there are just too many enemies that try and ram you.

I would count it as "no shooting" but it's not "no killing any enemies". Whichever way you want to think about it.LGB wrote:And wouldn't that count as no-shooting it?
And either way it's really tough with Bakraid and I don't know whether or not it's possible. Some sections feel pretty impossible but I'm no expert.

kengou wrote:Ummm...so you can't actually do it then. Because I've tried just for shits and giggles and a lot of enemies fly right into you and I've estimated that it's virtually impossible. But hey, make an actual video (without continuing) and prove me wrong.zubiri wrote:Yes!!! I can clear dodonpachi using just the arrows to move. No miss(not certain),No continues, No bombs, No bullets clear.(
That'd be a nice accomplishment but i need to make it great , I mean if i just throw the video on youtube as i made it, it would lack accomplishment and others may steal mi technique.
I have to make it seen by many people and people know I was the first to ever make it. Besides i took 2Hours to clear the game like this and when i speeded up the boring parts it got to 20 or 30 Minutes at least.
On the video I will at first turn off the bombs and shooting inputs and maybe i'll turn off the menu input and speed it up in such a way that people wont be able to know how I beat the game without shooting and when the video becomes more popular i'll put the original version of 8-10 minutes.
Agreed.
If you have to use continues to do it, well, with shmups, that means you havent beaten the game at all. That's just how the whole genre works.

I tried in MAME and, while a little practice could let me finish stage 1 without shooting, stage 2 with its flurry of helicopters is probably beyond my reach.
DoDonPachi has an unusual amount of things that scream "shoot me!", from the bees to the "P" marked enemies to the harmless tanks; moreover, waiting for bosses to time out is boring and having them disappear on their own is unrewarding; but at least the experiment makes great dodging practice.

Agreed ^^Plasmo wrote:Worst topic ever.
Not releasing a video because the stuff you've accomplished is just TOO AWESOME!!1 probably is the most ridiculous behaviour I could think of.
FIRST relaese the vid, THEN tell us how awesome you are. It doesn't work the other way 'round. You fail.
Oh and punctuation really is a good thing, yes.
Also, you can't do 1-5 without shooting nor bombing, you'll be forced to die at least 3 or 4 times there, maybe more. I don't think you'll ever make it.

This thread reminds me of the kid in elementary school that tried to tell me that he slits his throat every night and drinks the blood continuously until he gets bored, because any blood you drink goes back into your body and comes back out of the slit throat.
Do note that he had no marks on his throat.
Oh, oh, or my 15 year old cousin that insists that he shot the beak off of a bird with a pellet gun, or claims that you can upgrade the DSi's memory by downloading a new hard drive...
I could go on.
Seriously though, what an impossible feat. You might as well give up now, OP.

Do the bosses do anything weird when you don't shoot them for a long time? Maybe theirs a milking pattern you can discover.
Whats makes this hard isn't just that you can't kill the enemies it's not being able to move slower with the laser.

I did great so much water and milk that I threw up when I was little.

You know what REALLY amazes me? A year old thread and people still try to call BS on him despite:
