it requires a bios skns.zip which is the super kaneko nova bios then it should run , the game in mame does have a background graphics glitch in level 4 but is perfectly playable . The game is toughhh also .

You can look up a game in MAWS to find out if it needs BIOS or samples or a CHD or something.

I was just playing Cyvern earlier today and trying to decide who would win a fight between it and Dragon Blaze and Great Mahou.

I'd take Dragon Blaze in that fight.
Feedback will set you free.

Same.

Cyvern does work, indeed.

I kinda like the 10-second lo-fi music loops (some of them). Jungle music, catchy.

Hmmm - not sure. Dragon Blaze may be a tad "deeper", but I feel like Cyvern is a bit more fun, in terms of just raw gameplay.

I'd go with Great Mahou

This thread made me play a few credits of Cyvern on MAME.

It works fine, but there seem to be a few minor graphical glitches in the emulation. In stage 5 you are flying over a city or something, but there are tanks driving by just floating in the sky. I think there is supposed to be some background layer that they are driving on. There seem to be other background glitches in the final stage.

This game is also harder than I remember. And I keep trying dragonshoot.

You have old MAME. Stage 4 has been fixed few versions ago.

Makes sense. Everything else I run works perfectly so I doubt I'll update just for Cyvern.

What's the best version of MAME to run Radiant Silvergun on? I seem to remember it running faster on earlier versions, but I'm not sure how far back I have to go.
You cannot stop me with Paramecium alone!

Radiant Silvergun doesn't run very well in any version of MAME. The ST-V driver is still in a preliminary phase, and just about every game that runs on it has glaring framerate issues and audio/visual glitches.

Can't think of anything on the ST-V that hasn't received a Saturn port... try SSF.

A while back, Macaw and some others talked about how a certain processor is needed to get decent framerates with ST-V games (under MAME).
