Tonight I started playing Thief II: The Metal Age (PC) again. Man what a great game. The atmosphere was a little better in Thief 1, but the level design, gameplay and story are as or even more awesome.
I had already played about 10 levels a year ago, but I lost my savestates because of a harddrive crash
So I play the expert mode now.

Went back to Oneechanbara Vortex and beat it on Violent. The game is still really bad, but I have 30 hours into it for some reason. It's a shame, I mean, there's an actual combo system in there and they tried really hard with it, but the game is so fucking awful at the same time.
Also been playing Armed Police Batrider, Thunder Blaster and Raiden Fighters Jet in MAME. Upcoming shit which I have yet to receive includes:
Demon's Souls (PS3)
Cross Edge (PS3)
Batsugun (arcade board)
Time Leap (Xbox 360)
Mamoru-kun wa nowarete shimatta! (Xbox 360)
All before the month is out.

Just finished up the story in Infinite Undiscovery and working on the end game. Got a few characters that need some work with regards equipment and IC and I need to get the IC upgrade quests done.
My main man is now lvl 135 but the second half of the bonus dungeon is still pretty damn tough. The crossbow enemies and spiders are a nightmare and can kill in seconds, and the Gabriel boss was a bit of a nightmare. Think I'll work on some money making and stock up on the precious metals while working twards the level cap.
Like any (quite) good JRPG I've missed a million items and have screwed myself out of a fair few achievements in the process so will have a think about a second play through on hard. Considering the lacklustre reviews, I've had a good 40 hours of fun out of this one so far and can't see it ending soon.
One question:
WHY do developers insist on puitting bloody escort missions and 'protect this useless fuck' areas into games when their AI couldn't figure out where to shit hygenically? It's as bad as the obligatory stealth sections of the ps2 era. Until you can be bothered to work on some good NPC AI, leave it alone. These missions are shit.
Has there ever been a good escort mission in a game? If you know of any please tell me.
Also playing through Morrowind but annoyed at the lack of party chat while playing. I like nattering to my mates while wondering about.

Some credits of Makai Mura (J ghouls n ghosts)here and there, wow, the japan version is quite a step up in difficulty. I think I liked the US difficulty level more, but I guess it felt a little too good to be true when I got to the last stage after about 20 credits or so. Really like it though, interesting music and the atmosphere is even a bit chilling. Animation and sound effects are also pretty amazing.
I've also started playing Mother 3 again, but it's uncertain if I'll stick with it (as this is my third time through.) I've mostly been on an arcade game kick because my PS2 pad's down arrow is functioning poorly, having me resort to games I can play with my HRAP2. (Still rockin' it unmodded.)

I need some new games.
Haven't played
ninja blade
halo wars
cod5 waw
dead space
left 4 dead
Those are the only games in the 360 library I like, yet I haven't played.
Been through RE5 now on the 360 got most of the achievements, really enjoyed the game but it was a tad easy and not quite as good as 4. Wesker was awesome though.

I'm playing Grid too, I love this game. I played through Last Remnant recently, and though I am not sure whether or not I really thought it was a good game, I couldn't stop playing it, until I beat the enlightened seven and then discovered you could only recruit them in the pc version. I've also been messing around with Infamous and Killzone 2.

Grid indeed is awesome. It's probably the only modern PC game I've played so far that made me want to have a decent PC for gaming.
I've been playing Stunt GP on the PS2... it's from Team17, it's kinda fun to play. The Stunt stuff is completely useless and you don't even have to bother with it, but the racing engine is solid enough to be entertaining.

I've been pouring my time into Sonic Riders (PS2 rev) recently. While it certainly isn't a great game, I am enjoying it... although it took me forever to come to grips with all of the different playmechanics (yeah... X-treme racing an all, but it's rather convoluted). I'm now all about pounding the shit out of the cheap-ass AI with Knuckles.

Got BlazeBlue pre-ordered. Should be a good game. Love the ARC fighters (Battle fantasia was good but too cartoony). Should be a nice alternative to SF4.null1024 wrote:Playing some Guilty Gear X, PC version.
I *LOVE* this game. Ever since the first time I played it in the arcades, I have loved this game. It just feels so right to me. It seems to play a bit better with a keyboard however, namely due to how much faster hitting arrow keys can be done than moving a stick.
Then we got KoF 12 and 98 coming out. MvC2 for XBLA? Beautiful...
were spoilt for choice this year as we also have Tekken 6 for PS3 and 360`Throwdown wrote:Got BlazeBlue pre-ordered. Should be a good game. Love the ARC fighters (Battle fantasia was good but too cartoony). Should be a nice alternative to SF4.null1024 wrote:Playing some Guilty Gear X, PC version.
