David Carradine found dead in Bangkok...
Here's a stunning piece of news, actor David Carradine was found dead in Bangkok -- hung himself. WTF!?

Oh well, that means no more Kill Bill Vol. 3 that Quentin Tarantino wanted to do a third Kill Bill sequel that takes place fifteen years after the incidents that take place in Kill Bill Vol. 1 & 2 with all the actors/actresses remaining at the end of Kill Bill Vol. 1. There's still the possible revenge fight between Beatrice and the grown up daughter Nikita that was raised up by the one-armed Sophie character (since her mother was killed by Beatrice as shown in Kill Bill Vol. 1).
Beatrice's daughter and Nikita could still duke it out to the death if Beatrice does die at the hands of Nikita. ^_~
It was with Kill Bill Vol. 2 that actor David Carradine was given proper screen time. Considering that it was a more talkative film than Kill Bill Vol. 1 ever was, it still had that Tarantino branded figure of speech that he's famous for.

I listened to this being reported on NPR this afternoon, and they only focused on his work on the TV show Kung Fu. Odd that they didn't mention Kill in a leading role.Bill.
Wasn't Kung Fu supposed to be Bruce Lee's show? I recall hearing American TV execs wouldn't put an Asian on TV in a leading role.

The original Star Trek series was the first one to feature a supporting actor George Takei of Asian descent. And since he came "out of the closet" proclaiming to be gay a few years back, that was an interesting revelation but that really wasn't necessary anyways.Koa Zo wrote:I listened to this being reported on NPR this afternoon, and they only focused on his work on the TV show Kung Fu. You think that fame, money and success would make people happy and keep them from taking their own lives. Suicide seems to be a problem with many celebrities, which is quite alarming considering they're a very small minority of the population.

Perhaps, Mr. Carradine had some inner demons to wrestle with and in the end, they got the better of him. How sad that is...if you take a positive outlook on life and enjoy/live each day to the fullest, there will be no regrets to one's dying day whenever that may be. Fame, money, and success isn't everything to some folks. So be it.UnscathedFlyingObject wrote:You think that fame, money and success would make people happy and keep them from taking their own lives. It could also be auto-erotic asphyxiation. Just like the INXS guy.

As a fan of Kung Fu I'm sad about his passing. Sure he wasn't asian, and he hardly knew martial arts, but he was still pretty darn good in the show. He was excellent in Kill Bill as well. Great actor who probably inspired a ton of people to get involved in the martial arts or philosophy after seeing Kung Fu. RIP.

He got thaid up?TriggerHeartExelica wrote:No one believes he committed suicide. Apparently he had a rope around his neck and his genitals so its believed to be an accident due to some form of auto erotic asphyxiation. A Thai prostitute may or may not have been involved.

That would be Christopher Lambert, and someone else for the sequel named Jeff, and someone else in the TV series, none were David Carradine.themachinist wrote:I used to watch Kung Fu.
I also remember him being Raiden in the MK movies.
RIP.
