Gamespy to shutdown Classicgaming hosting?

Post by neist »

Anyone else hear about this?

Granted, the forums aren't there anymore, but will the site go poof forever? I couldn't find anything in a quicksearch of the first several pages of these forums, so if it's been posted, I apologize.

As a mod at the Castlevania Dungeon forums, a part of Classic Gaming, I guess I'll have to keep an eye out for this news to see if it's set in stone or not.

This is really bad news. I hope they find a new home.

It will. Upon reading this news I instantly dug into their forums and found the answer. I don't have the link now, but discoalucard stated that it would find a new home.

It's linked to in the article you linked to.

Too bad that many of the shrines on CG will disappear. They're mostly dead now, but were good for getting an overview of series I didn't know much about.

They're being saved as well; again, no worries.

Indeed.

Guess this is my sign to go have a chat about the Contra site then!

If setting up the hosting wasn't such a whore I'd offer to most of those sites. The problem is, I'd be committing time I simply don't have. :/

Kurt mentioned, in his HG101 post, a site he's got his stuff running on...I'm gonna look into that, for 2Dgaming.net I suppose (hey, it's got a great URL). That'll be my project for this week.
