Crisis Zone: Tiger & Edge. "Guhahahaha! No one can defeat us. Never before & never after!"..
That quote alone is capable of creating a space-time paradox.
You can someone has never been defeated before. But never after? I mean.. be defeated after, you have to be defeated once and that kind of destroys the point and... Oy...
Ecco 2: Medusa. *shudders*
Einhander: Stratagen spacecraft, and final boss.
Castlevania: Lament of Innocence: The Forgotten One.
Devil May Cry: Phantom. Easily one of the best fights in gaming history.
Gradius: Bacterion. ......j/k.

Yep. Cheesy dialogue at its most awesome and part of what makes this certain one so good. The ensuing tag team battle is pretty wild- with Edge throwing Naginatas and Tiger picking up a large red barrel to chuck at you. Shoot the barrel so it blows up before he can toss it, and there goes a good bit of his lifebar. Later on, Tiger starts swinging a large ladder to hit you.
Most memorable boss fight in a game?
Easily Bionic Commando on the NES. That was more of a 'series' of boss battles, but nonetheless it was one of the most memorable experiences I'll ever remember in any game. All those surprise boss battles followed by that escape sequence. And to top it all off, you were then treated to one of the most impressive explosion graphics seen (for the era) as you're whisked away by helicopter.
Yep, that's what it's all about. No CGI cinemas needed there.
1. Street Fighter II (M.Bison) - he was one cheap bastard. Kept on doing super move after super move (his charge moves take a regular player 2-3 seconds to charge up) with no charging; especially his stupid flying kick followed by a cheap throw that took off too much life
2. Final Fantasy II (4 elemental bosses) - having to fight all 4 elemental bosses one after the other was a real bitch! I would keep dying right after the 3rd or at the beginning of the 4th
3. Castlevania Circle of the Moon (twin dragons) - These took forever to defeat! The hardest of the two twin dragons was the one that would slam the side of the wall, causing falling rocks while the other would shoot fire
4. Contra III (2 end bosses) - you first had to defeat that big head with the two dragons on each side. It sucked because the dragons would often come out and hit you by going from one side of the screen to the other (almost impossible to avoid). Then, you had to fight that brain looking thing with the eye in the middle that had all those different orbs spinning around and whichever orb you shot, you would fight something (the worst was the dragon that would slither/sweep on the ground)
5. Contra (Red Falcon) - It wasn't a hard boss, but very memorable, since it was a giant heart and for the NES, was pretty impressive (if you play the Japanese version, you are treated to cut scenes and some added graphics) I would always try to have spreader at this boss because I would kill all 4 of the pods (the pods that those creatures came out of) and leave the heart completely defenseless, and the just look at the heart pumping before totally anihilating it with my radpid/spreader.
6. Street Fighter Alpha 3 (M.Bison). This guy was hard, and took off almost all your life with his laser beam-like psycho crusher
7. Final Fantasy II (facing yourself). Just as you get an upgrade to yourself, you fight your old self. Just brilliant!
8. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for NES (rocksteady) - not a hard boss, but memorable because of the cheap method to beat him by standing on the crates above and using donatello's bo to hit him from above. Shredder
was ridiculous and one hit from his gun turned you into a turtle
holy thread resurrection batman! but to be fair you have a nice list
