I'm still not sure about travel/accommodation, but I'll probably book a train to Birmingham quite early and get there on the 17th, take another train/bus to Northampton and kill the rest of the day taking a look around the place.

It's a shame I don't have a car to sleep in, hotels are expensive...

Hi boys,

I'll be there (IC09) both days (not that any of you know me personally, but I've seen a couple of you from a distance down Casino when I pop there infrequently :P) - I'm lending my cab + DeathSmiles MegaBlack Label if anyone fancies trying to topple EOJ's high scores on the PCB (I can't get close to 'em myself but I suck) :P

(...and more importantly Flying Shark for some proper oldschool Toaplan lovin' :P)

Oh, and happy birthday Smraedis, mate :P

My (home) computer just exploded, haven't printed my tickets yet. :? Should have it back before July though.

Casino was pretty packed last night. Only 1 monitor was working on SFIV, and when the engineer was fixing it the power went out to the right-hand side of the room... killing my uber Progear run. He gave me 4 credits when it was back up though, which was cool.

A belated birthday congrats. Hope you had a good one.

I assume most of our UK forumites are going to IC '09? I'll be there, of course, laughing at Twin Galaxies' so-called "world records", and watching countless people smash them without realising.

Thanks Icarus, yeah I had a nice day, and a good weekend :)

I was wondering what records would be used for the event, but I never like hearing about TG..
I admit that I wanted to attempt to get a new record for myself on Battle Bakraid, surely that would be more exciting than yet another poor TG record being beaten?

Right - one or two days this week, I'm heading down for sure. I've been so busy of late I've been a terrible no-show of late.

When are people down? m0nks? DEL? CHI? Anyone else heading on down soon?

Also, I need to finalise IC09 plans. And I need to speak to you about that Skykid - I'll give you a call...

I've been down quite a bit recently for KoF XII, so let me know which day you're heading down.

I've also got those two Raiden Secret Files with your name in them...

Oh yeah! I'm excited about them, and collecting secret iles sounds very clandestine!

I'm going to say Friday then, and maybe go for thursday depending on other commitments...

See you both there then!

Made it down on Saturday and bumped into Taylor, who confessed his hatred for Pork! I was having an off day with anything I put coins into, so had a few more credits on the swine, upped my PB by fluke, then got back on the train feeling knackered. Wish I didn't have to spend so much on travelling just to discover I'm not really in a shooting frame of mind.

Hey guys,

Just looking for other people that go to the casino and thanks to the love of google i found this thread.

Im pretty terrible at most games at the casino but i still manage to enjoy myself failing miserably at the SHMUPS they have in there.

I really miss pink sweets: ibara sorekara though....the only bullet hell SHMUP i could beat on less then 4 credits =\

Hey Dizzm! Welcome!

And don't worry about standard. A few of the Casino crew are proper decent, but many of us still have a long way to go! Most important is that we're a friendly bunch, and it's always good to have a new face at Casino. Try and come along on Friday night if you can. Seems there'll be a small meet-up. I'm the one with a shaved head, thick black glasses, and I've usually got my skateboard near me.

If ever you spot me, be sure to say hello.

Well, me, m0nks and DEL crossed paths on Saturday night.

Me and m0nks actually had a really good time on Air Assault at the Troc'. It's other name is 'Fire Barrel' m0nks, and that's the name the MAME ROM goes by.

DEL - how did Pork turn out? Fixed properly yet?

And Dizzm - shame you didn't make it - keep an eye out for next time.

And RupertH - where were you hiding? I'll have to pop into your work at some point, so I can harangue you for the Raiden Secret Files...er... files.

Don't worry Spadgy, I didn't leave the Secret Files in a cab like some absent-minded member of parliament. They're still safe. I popped in for about five minutes some time after 7pm but had to rush off quickly to a gig.

Let me know when you can pop down and I'll hand them over. Just don't go selling them to The Telegraph. The last thing we need is a week of them drip-feeding the specs of the B7 Red Eye...

Is there an actual IC '09 thread yet?

http://insertcoin-09.com/news/games/ Anyway, they added some new games like Futari and an extra Ketsui. Hope they'll find a cab for pink sweets...

I got the engineer to put a third monitor chassis in the Pork cab. It works, but the colours are a bit off.

I will remove Pork in the next couple of days (going back to ill6) and put a different Hori in the Progear cab. If people still want progear, it can be arranged, but in another cab.

If anyone has a board to lend for a while for the Pork Vert cab, let me know. Either a rare board or a new game.

As I said to you DEL, while I have games I love on PCB, not sure they'd be top of the list for that cab!

But, if only to fill a gap, I'm happy to lend...

Viper Phase 1
Dogyuun
Strikers 1999
and.. er... Raiden - as if London needs another Raiden PCB!

While I'd be a tiny bit sad to see Progear go, really - I'm done with that - another Hori would be great.

Of which I can 100% confirm all those (not the machines, the PCBs - there'll be plenty of cabs coming in for the event), since the first 12 are my PCBs, and the last 4 are one of my friends (and his Naomi cab with VO:OT control panel). I'm also carting along my original DeathSmiles to go with the MegaBlack 8).

DEL: Shame I'm not down in London next till 6thish June... I'd be up for lending DeathSmiles (not MegaBlack Label, that stays in my cab :P) to Casino till Insert Coin if you want a new horizontal. It sucks not living in London any more :{

Thanks Chi_Ryu, thats a generous list of titles for the IC event.

spadgy - Progear might stay in the Hori cab. It all depends on whether I'll be around enough after the Ball and Chain settles back into London.
One thing's for sure - Pork is coming out ASAP. Next Vert game is unknown.
