I'm not too big of a fan of it... it's an okay game, and the abitlity to aim a cursor-based weapon by stopping your ship temporarily is interesting... but the game just costs too much to justify the mediocre level layout and somewhat plodding pace. If you can get it cheap, it's a decent one for the collection, but if you're going after rare MD shooters, go after Twinkle Tale, Eliminate Down and Gleylancer first. Or Alien Solider.

I totally agree. And what gives this game it's plodding pace is the aiming the cursor based weapon-this works fine in rail shooter, but it does NOT belong in a shmup, IMO.

Funny you should mention that. Fumiko in Shikigami no Shiro 1 and 2 has this kind of subweapon. A little awkward to use, but actually the most powerful subweapon available if used correctly.

That's right, I remember that weapon! Didn't know it was the most powerful, though. :o I just didn't like it because it seemed like you couldn't kill large groups of enemies very quickly.

Oh yes, it's the most powerful, even more than Kim's twin swords in Shikigami 2. It's range is limited, so you often have to wait until enemies "bunch up" at certain locations, and attack them at those locations. However it has serious boss killing power. Just drop about three on top of the 2-1 spidertank boss in Shikigami 1 and watch it go down in flames within ten seconds, or take out Arala Cran in Shikigami 2 within 25. ;)

With all high powered weapons though, it has it's drawbacks in that you freeze in position while aiming it. No rewards without risk, eh? ;)
