Ah well...feeling good and watching the first episode of ReGenesis...which is surprisingly entertaining while enebriated.
Also surfing forums and trying to decide when to get some ZZZ....yard sales at 7:30 am. Ugh, but totally worth it.

Anyhow, I got some Michigan-brewed Bell's Oberon wheat ale. Slammed one down pretty quick along with a late lunch. Felt a bit tipsy for a few seconds. Tastes like beer, not too much like a wheat beer I don't think.
I wanted to get some more of Leinie's honey weiss, but I figured it wouldn't be a terrible idea to try something new instead.
Anyone get a chance to try out the limited edition Guinness 250 stout yet? I have only tried a sixpack as its prohibitively expensive around these parts but it was pretty good, I need to try it on tap.
Now that summer's here I've been drinking a bit too much. A martini (gin + vermouth) a day is not going to work out in the long run, but it's nice for now.

Ruination is pretty good. I usually see it for $14-15 a six pack. I tried making an english IPA extract kit and I don't think I let it ferment long enough. Tastes like malt cider. Trying my hand at formulating my own recipe for a chocolate stout, just waiting for the ingredients in the mail.
Like I mentioned in the RFA thread, I have a case of Sierra Nevada Torpedo IPA in the fridge. It's pretty good for a $30 a case. I'd say give it another shot, just make sure you get it fresh. It's sitting at A- right now on beeradvocate, so that may suggest you got a bad bottle.
Not drunk at the moment but very, very hungover. Lots and lots of drinks last night. Woke up at 2 p.m. Want to play Air Gallet, but my reflexes are crap.

In CA, Lagunitas makes a pretty good IPA called Maximus. There's an IPA by Rubicon which is quite good, and of course Ale Smith's IPA is highly recommended. I don't know Two Hearted Ale or Hopslam, so I'll be on the lookout. Victory brewing company has an expensive ale called 'hop' something or other with a cartoon prospector on the front that is quite good!
I agree on stone's Russian Imperial; wish it was around longer. Hell, I wish everything by stone was around longer. The double bastard should be an all year commodity!

Hop Wallop! Glad that Victory decided to make that a year round beer. I agree on the Double Bastard, that's one of my favorites from Stone.
My local places carry Lagunitas and Victory but I'm not sure if I've ever seen Hop Wallop or Maximus, I'll have to remember those for next time. I don't remember ever having anything special from Lagunitas but I've never had anything bad from them either.
What do you guys think of Victory HopDevil? Based on the awesome ratings (and label art) I thought I was going to like it more than I did. Definitely not bad, though.

I'm actually pretty enamored by Lagunitas, or at least I'd go so far as recommending Maximus, Hairy Eyeball and Brown Sugah...those have been the outstanding ones for me!
