The bad day topic

Post by third_strike »

Know that day where all you do fail and nothing's certain.
Any thing like:
In one day you sleep doing all in next day when you wake up don't know do anything!
That part which you always do and in one nice day without any explication you can't do more and need to learn it again!
Why this happen?
This has already happened to you?
Tell us, please!
Cool!

This happened to me last Saturday over at jonny5's shmupmeet. I had nothing but constant horrible runs on Futari Original.

Oh wait, this topic is about shmups?

Yeah, I would say I'm having that issue...played Spriggan score attack and Guardian Force, didn't do particularly great on either.

Who plays original?
Futari's about the Maniac mode.

When this happens, I usually just put the game down and do something else, then go back to it a few days later. Sometimes time away gives you fresh eyes.
Feedback will set you free.

i understood exactly what you meant thirdstrike :)

i have bad days all the time. like acid king, i think the best thing to do is play 1 day, and not play the next, and repeat that pattern. when you're doing badly, i don't think any amount of practice will help, you just get frustrated and do even worse :x

why does it happen? if i don't play doj for a while, it takes me a day or two to remember all the patterns. other times, maybe you have other stuff on your mind, you're tired, dehydrated, many things. i don't play very much, and try to only play when i'm in the right mood :)

Cool!

jpj speaks the truth. You should only play when you actually feel like it. If it's not going any good, take a break and try do think about what you did wrong and go at it again. There are lessons to be learned from failure as well :)

Off-days when your skills are below your usual par? Everyone gets those.

I just go do something else when that happens.
