Thanks for helping me find a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX SE!
Thanks for helping me find a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX SE!
I was wondering how difficult (and expensive) it is to find a Hori Real Arcade Pro EX SE joystick. I'd like to have a solid Seimitsu stick for my Japanese Xbox 360 console and this looks like a good one. Anyone have any experience with this stick?

Yahoo Japan's your only option, and shipping will set you back about $60 on top of $220-30.
It's basically the only Seimitsu solution for the 360 right now, unless you get into modding (and there's no 360 stick where it's easy like the hrap1). Sucks I know, but the only other option would be to try and track down those HRAP EX2's (they're black and come with Sanwa sticks and Hori parts) which were released in the US, then mod that. They're about $130, I think. At least, that's what I will probably end up doing eventually.
The release of SFIV really hurt the stick industry, since the MadCatz ones were underproduced and people have been scrounging for something to use ever since.

That's what I was afraid of. I guess I'll hunt down an EX2 and try to mod it. Thanks for the info.

The LS-32 drops into the SE Street Fighter stick with an S plate. And they're slowly starting to come back into stock places now, and pre-orders are available some sites too.Elixir wrote:Yahoo Japan's your only option, and shipping will set you back about $60 on top of $220-30.

Can you list the sites I can place a preorder now in either JP or the US?LuckyDay wrote:The LS-32 drops into the SE Street Fighter stick with an S plate. They were available yesterday on Amazon but they were gone in about a day. Gamestop had them last week too.
If you look around you can find them for around $100-120, which is a little high, but if you hold on I'm sure they'll come down soon.
People are gouging like $80-100 for the EX2 now, which is insane, cause it's a piece of shit.
Unless you can find a used EX2 for dirt cheap somewhere I would wait it out.

Is it possible to drop in an LS-32 or LS-32-01 into the Deathsmiles Hori stick?

This isn't a given. There are many HRAP models on the market which differ from each other. Some models allow for Seimitsu mod, and some don't, due to a sanwa-only mounting plate welded to the control panel.LuckyDay wrote:That's just a branded HRAP. If it fits in one of those it should be the same.
Interesting info on HRAPs:

You cant drop seimitsu stick into any newer HRAPs, including everything above the 2nd release of HRAP 2, all the HRAP EX(except se).LuckyDay wrote:That's just a branded HRAP. If it fits in one of those it should be the same.
The only solution for 360 w/ seimitsu atm its EX2, madcatz SE/TE and ex-se.
I said it would be a drop in for the SE. Obviously you would have to do some modding on HRAPs to get it in there, but people have done it.kk1030 wrote:You cant drop seimitsu stick into any newer HRAPs, including everything above the 2nd release of HRAP 2, all the HRAP EX(except se).LuckyDay wrote:That's just a branded HRAP. That link RGB posted above is a good resource and has some examples of people putting them in a HRAP.
I'm sure somewhere someone on SRK has a pic of the insides so you could match it up with which HRAP it is.
Hmmmm...well I guess I'm going to have to stick with the EX-SE if I want the Seimitsu stick. Now if only I could find an EX-SE for sale.
i don't know anything about Yahoo auctions.

Okay I've checked out the Rinkya deal, and it seems good. But has anyone used this service and how ridiculous does the cost of using this service get? Just curious.

I'm intending to get a normal LS 32 and drop it into a Streetfighter IV fightstick.
LS-32: has only bare microswitches (solder or quickconnects) and a FLAT mountingplate (same hole placement as Sanwa JLF).

Thanks for the clarification.emphatic wrote:LS-32-01: has a PCB with a 5-pin connector and (usually s-shaped plate)Hibachi wrote:This is probably covered on another thread but I'd like to know if the differences between the LS 32 and the LS 32-01 are merely down to the mounting plate?

As I'm really new to modding sticks though. Will i need anything additional then to drop the stick in?
Will i need to carry out some soldering.
Basically, can anyone point me to an idiots guide?

To drop into the SFIV stick you will just have to rotate the mounting plate 90 degrees and put it in the stick. You may also have to put the wiring harness on upside down, because I think the LS-32 harness is the reverse of what the JLF is.Hibachi wrote:Thanks for the clarification.emphatic wrote:LS-32-01: has a PCB with a 5-pin connector and (usually s-shaped plate)Hibachi wrote:This is probably covered on another thread but I'd like to know if the differences between the LS 32 and the LS 32-01 are merely down to the mounting plate?

It's pretty easy. You won't have to solder or anything.
Supposedly the TE and SE stick mod the same way, so this should help.

I have an HRAP EX for 360, and I have an LS-32 on the way. Why wouldn't it just drop in if the hole placement is the same as the Sanwa? I keep hearing that you can't drop a Seimitsu into the EX, but I don't see why not. Sure, I have to solder it in, but what else stands in my way? I plan to make it work no matter what, even if I have to get physical and start sanding down some parts.emphatic wrote:LS-32-01: has a PCB with a 5-pin connector and (usually s-shaped plate)Hibachi wrote:This is probably covered on another thread but I'd like to know if the differences between the LS 32 and the LS 32-01 are merely down to the mounting plate?

FULL LOCK is BOMB
I don't own a HRAP, but in my EGRET II, the LS-32 plate align perfectly with the screws as does the Sanwa JLF plates.

The left plate in the picture is what I'm using.
Perhaps nay sayers mean that LS-32 lacks the PCB, thus requires soldering. Not a "drop in" solution. But will still be pretty easy.

I've done mine today, full Seimitsu. The LS-32 goes in fine, you just have to desolder the Jlf. I didn't use qd's after, just soldered it straight on.
The only slight mod needed is if you are using screw in's the 'a' one doesn't quite fit under the metal lip of the bracket that holds the stick, so it needs some bending up a little.
