Just started Pokemon Emerald, got through the first 30 minutes in 10 [held down backspace in VBA, I traded my actual copy of Emerald for a real copy of Gold].
Come check out my website, I guess. Random stuff I've worked on over the last two decades.
No, the PSP version is superior (to both DS and PS2 versions). The DS version is superior because it has the ability to skip battle animations and stuff, but the graphics are pretty awful.Momijitsuki wrote:I'm playing Disgaea DS. I know the PS2 version is superior, but the fact that I get to play as Pleinair makes up for it in many, many ways.

I meant that as in the PS2 version is superior to the DS version, but whatever. I don't have a PSP, as I've mentioned before, so the DS version will have to suffice for my portable enjoyment. Then again, if your biggest reason for buying the DS version wasn't to play as Pleinair, your priorities are seriously screwed up.Elixir wrote:No, the PSP version is superior (to both DS and PS2 versions). Vagrant Story. Been meaning to replay it for years... I cleared it once back in 2000 (it was one of the games I bought a PS1 for alongside SOTN, MGS1 and R-Type Delta - that was a summer of happy gaming). I kind of bludgeoned through it, though. Loved the atmosphere and action rpg + dungeon crawling gameplay, but I didn't really get into the mechanics of it.
Enjoying it a hell of a lot now, both aesthetically and in gameplay terms. The various systems are a lot of fun to tinker around with, and I couldn't love the monster / environment designs more. This is also exactly the kind of game I like to play to relax. Lots of variables to explore without much intensity or immediate danger, but enough basic challenge to feel rewarding.

Graphics are still pretty damn nice too.

And clapping stuff in the face is as satisfying as ever.

I recently discovered this fantastic indie open universe space sim called Evochron Legends (http://starwraith3dgames.home.att.net/e ... /index.htm). Absolutely the best game in the genre of trading/mercenary space sim I've ever experienced. Tops my previous favorite, Freelancer, by far, and Darkstar One doesn't hold a candle (yes, I like it better than Elite too). Seamless universe that feels alive, great sense of distance and size, tons of stuff to do and places to go, and a LOT of exploration. I've been playing this for hours at a time every day since I got it and I keep coming back. If you like sci-fi and space sims and open-world games, you owe it to yourself to try this out. There's a free timed trial, you can play the full game for 90 minutes, and that was all it took me to buy the thing (only $25). Sounds like an advertisement I guess but I love this game so much! And it's an indie game, even!

Right now I´m playing MDK 2 on the Dreamcast. Really hard game, but it´s also as awesome as hard
Some minor things are a bit annoying... sometimes it´s too difficult or not obvious enough to find out what to do next. And I hate the passages with endless respawning enemies. But otherwise it´s a great and outstanding 3rd person shooter with cool characters, humour and gameplay that has enough variety. It also has imaginative level design and great graphics and music. Really fun to play, can be frustrating at times, but that´s ok... much better than if it was too easy

Two Worlds. A lot.
I understand that this game was slated on release but find the game rewarding and highly entertaining. The flaws are obvious, but ignorable. I even enjoy the horrific voice acting
Offline it's a straight forward exploration deal with a lot of quests and a suprising amount of quest variety. I don't understand the claims that the game is too hard at all. My character is now about lvl 40s with minimal alchemy and no super gear and I can take Giant Trachidis and Golems without too many headaches.
I've built a lvl 120 online character and intend to play with him until I can 1 hit anything in the game. Looks like I'll be stacking Double Deaths for a long time though...
I also started a new character recently with some serious restrictions: no alchemy or magic at all. I expect the game to remain challenging well past lvl 150 as no stats will be boosted from potions and get out clauses like the grapple ivy and lightning combos won't be available. The only perk that I am allowing myself is access to the gold accross all of my characters. I've got enough to worry about without having to think about calculating cash earned on each person.
If you like action RPGs and can ignore small problems I highly recommend this for the 360. If you do get it, drop my a line over Live and I'll help you get a head start and get you on the right alchemy path. Just don't bother with the many arseholes online only interested in duping and chuging unicorn potions.

Finally got around buying Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword this week (and for good price too).
And so far I am totally digging it.
Quite impressive graphics and one of the few games really relying on the touch screen for playing it I've come across.
Beauty is that it really works well after some initial struggle (I sometimes still end up shooting a wall when I just want to move there and the likes),
but I am slowly getting the hang of this.
Thumbs up so far!
