Star Soldier : Vanishing Earth.

The graphics are TERRIBLE, even for N64 standards, but the music's pretty good.
Now if the game didn't rely so much on that stupid reflect thing in the later levels...

right now... failing at Gradius II, when im able to get past the first annoying ass level intact i usually make it to the maoi stage and then get raped, man that game is annoying

also gave up on Thunder Force IV after getting to the second to last level without losing a life and then never being able to beat that boss, fuck its too hard

Ikaruga... make it to the fourth stage without losing a life then cant beat it (on normal), god its hard with the inadequate dc pad

Radirgy - reallly love this game, cant beat it yet (only playing this one one credit because i feel like i can do it eventually) but i can get around 20 million and i just started it a few days ago, very rewarding shield system. I'm just not good enough at dodging verticals yet to beat the later bosses without dying since i never have enough shield and i always play on max speed (impossible to dodge with the dc pad at top speed when youre going through such tight spaces)

thats it for now
also addicted to virtua tennis and sf3thirdstrike
i love dreamcast

in better news i finally beat android assault/bari arm

R-Type III - SNES (US).

Totally love this game to death all over again. I'm learning a few tricks that are helping me to *almost get through stage 4 without dying.

Pretty complex and plenty frustrating.

Been on a Battle Bakraid kick lately, and some ESP RaDe.

Also been trying some new things in Blazing Lazers, and putting together an article for the SNES Darius games (I love 'em!).

I've also been on an SNK bit lately, and started playing their fighters. Now I understand why fighting fans like SNK! Last Blade and Real Bout are simply fantastic, even for people who aren't fans of the genera.

Aero Fighters Special on MAME. I knew there was an English version! I'm not crazy, after all! XD

...wow, this game's hard (and nostalgic, look at all those old levels). Pre-Psikyo Psikyo sure love their fast enemy bullets.

Kinda going back to Mushihimesama since some folks I know are starting to pick it up.

Occasional Deathsmiles when Kenchan brings over his 360, but otherwise not much game-wise

...waiting for the G-Stream G2020 OKI-banking issues to be fixed in MAME so I can start playing it. Not playable at FS10.

Batrider, just did a run without taking ANY powerups, got to level 3.
I might have done better if my last ship had a spread shot instead of a forwardly aimed one

Strikers 1945 II! Finally reached stage 5 in a Psikyo game (531,400), only to find out that the forum's high score board is limited to 10 stagnant spots. :(

Indeed, it's still listed as preliminary on mameworld. I long for the day.

Strikers 1945 II still. This is the first shmup that i play as well if not better when tipsy. Finally found one! I get in the zone pretty easily with this one, it's nice. Another bonus: no annoying memorization of coinhead/gemhead locations!

Also the first Psikyo game i can get past stage 4, and in fact have even reached stage 6 now. I'm not sure if it's just easier than Dragon Blaze/Gunbird 2 or what.

Yeah, but Strikers II is still pretty tough. Which ship are you using?

pSX Emulator will run it well with a minimum of fuss, if you're okay with the PS1 port.

I wish i could say i play with the worst ship so i'd have a shot at 1cc'ing it or scoring well, but no. :P I played with all the ships quite a bit and Hagane/Ki84 riddled my high score table, so i almost always play with it now. Second choice is the Flying Pancake, once in a while i'll score well with it.

As it's a console game, is it tate-able? If it is, is it tate-able when using pSX?

I'm back on Gradius II, Gaiden and V. I've been watching super plays to try and improve my poor gameplay but still those games are hard!

I'm eagerly awaiting for my Kaitei Daisensou, Layer Section and Soukyu to arrive, I'm sure it'll take me months to even complete those games :)

Yep, DX has full TATE (and several other screen modes), and pSX will display them all. Just a matter of going into DX's options menu, setting it to TATE and rotating your monitor.

Last game I played of something was Friday.

And I played..... Vapor Trail and Aerobusters, MD version of both... co-op with a friend, using Kaillera.

A *FEMALE* friend.

Yeah, I found a FEMALE shmupper. HAH. She plays a little worse than me, though to be quite honest, we both fucked up Aerobusters badly, it was one of the worst games of anything I ever played. Was the game really that hard?

I´m playing some PSone-Shooters I´ve downloaded recently from the japanese Playstation Network:

Einhänder, R-Type Delta, G-Darius, Raiden, Shienryu, Sonic Wings Special, Raystorm and Raycrisis.

I can´t believe I missed/Skipped most of those in the Playstation One-Era...

Einhänder is easily becoming one of my favourite sidescrolling Shmups and R-Type Delta has become my favourite of all the R-Types.

While the 3D-Graphics look aged, the smoothing-option of the PS3 really help those "1st Generation-2,5D"-Shmups.

I´m also playing Xevious Resurrection right now and it looks absolutely beautiful. Gameplay-wise it´s Xevious as it ever was, so not much was changed apart from to ability to activate a shield...it feels a bit dated but if you like the classic Xevious-Gameplay I can really recommend it.
ACHTUNG!!! Einhänder kommt!!

I've creditfed through that millions of times [with a friend, it's a great way to pass the time], and I definetly[sp] don't remember that in the ending.

I guess I should note that I played the arcade version. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MT8JiUcFP2U 4:40.
It's kind of hard to see, but you can make out ketverning, or something like that.
