To be more specific, you need to select PLAY from the main menu and then choose any mode (and let it load up), and then exit from that mode.

To answer your question, yes, the buttons can be mapped however you like.
Excellent thank you!

If you want to upload your score to the online leaderboards, you have to go to SCORE ATTACK>PLAY to do so. Be sure you always first select PLAY from the main menu (and then exit after it loads up) before entering SCORE ATTACK when you first boot up the game, otherwise your saved scores will be wiped (this is a bug that will be fixed in an upcoming patch).

Just to be clear, is this method only to facilitate uploading to the online leaderboards, or is this to prevent wiping of local leaderboards as well?

What exactly causes the saved scores to be wiped? I've tried selecting PLAY, booting it up, and exiting, and then re-entering the mode (not score attack) and recording a score or two on the leaderboard. After booting up the game again a third time (or after I've reset the xbox), the scores are gone! Is there something in the workaround that I'm missing here...?

Yeah, no matter how I go into Score Attack it wipes all my scores regardless. I've even played a round or two in Play then gone to Score Attack and it wipes.

From what I've tried, it doesn't have anything to do with Score Attack... even quitting and rebooting the regular PLAY mode wipes the scores as well. Get it fixed Cave!

Oh, you can't have the game installed on the hdd, and you have to turn auto-save off. If you do this, the method I described above will ensure your scores never get wiped, and they save properly.

Hate to ask this question yet again, but is anybody else in the US still waiting on their copy? Mine shipped Apr. 22, and the mailman just dropped by...still no game. I'm in San Francisco, and I'm just curious if others in the area have gotten their copies.

I'll give this a shot tonight and see how many times I forget to manually save. Haha.

I hope they get this patch out soon!

They prompt you to save whenever you get a new score, so all you have to do is press the A button. :)

The patch is due sometime between May 20-June 10.

Still waiting for mine (opposite coast from you) though it shipped a day or two late. Hoping it arrives sometime this week, if not I'll check further.

what do you mean with wiping scores ? Deleting , not saving ?!

Anyone also suffers from incredible lagging during online play ? Even if I play with my friends (same country) it suffers from some lag. Not as much as when I play with a japanese dude but still slowdowns. The Networkcode isn't the best :(

Mine shipped the 22nd as well. Haven't received it yet, haven't checked the mail yet today. I live in AZ.

EDIT: Oh hey I got it! :D

Hope yours isn't far behind. If you haven't got it by Wednesday, I'd start asking questions.

W, what the hell, I watched EOJ's 1.1 run, and now his score is on my top 10 rankings for this mode. Is this normal?

I am in San Francisco. My order was shipped on 22 April and I just got my copy today.

I have never played the PCB. Except for minor slowdown, the XB360 version is very playable and enjoyable! I am very happy with this game so far.

Thanks for the updates all. I'll keep my fingers crossed for tomorrow! I've played the PCB and was able to get to the last boss on one credit, but I'm definitely looking forward to sitting down and putting some quality time into this one.

Apologies for this, I must be doing something horribly wrong as my scores are still being wiped no matter what I seem to do.

For clarity, here's what I've done so far (the game's not installed on my HDD btw)...
1) Deleted all my local DS data on the HDD for a fresh start
2) When the first prompt appears, cancel auto-save
3) Check the options... yep autosave disabled
4) Select PLAY on the main screen, then XBOX 360 mode, then load up the game
5) Quit back to main menu
6) Repeat step 4
7) Play a game, record a high score on the local leaderboard.
8 ) Press A on the prompt to save the game (not the replay data)
9) Exit to main menu
10) Repeat step 4 again
11) Score is gone from the leaderboard.

Have I done something wrong? Or is your method only for uploading to the online leaderboards via Score Attack?

Thanks for the help btw... otherwise I could just wait for that patch I guess :(

You know there is the "today's hi score" ranking and the all time ranking, right? You press A and left and right to toggle between them. The "today's" scores will always be wiped whenever you exit a mode.

Just want to make sure you haven't overlooked the obvious.

Is there an easy way to look at scores from a menu or something?

Waiting for the 'todays scores' screen, pressing A then moving all the way to the left everytime is a pain in the arse.

So what's up with Stage 4? How is the rank of the level decided? Obviously, it's based off of the stage ranks that you've chosen prior to playing it, but do we know exactly how many variants there are, and what exactly triggers each variant?

Ranks of 1-1 thru 3-2, and whether or not you went to the Canyon or not. If you go to the canyon you get a shitload more suicide bullets, and the end boss (both forms) are far tougher.

Good luck on that one, it requires both a high level of skill, and a lot of time put into the game. Most people will never get that achievement.
