TV service menus

Just Google your TV's model and "service menu" or "service mode". If you can't find the code for your specific model, replace the model with the manufacturer in the search. Then try out all the codes you can find for that manufacturer's TV's, one of them is most likely to work even though it doesn't say it works for your model.

Also google "service manual" for your TV. There should be free scans out there, and in this manual you will find everything there is to know about fine tuning your set.

There should always be a way to do it with at the very least opening up the remote and using hidden buttons.

A few words of caution - be very, VERY careful when accessing any service menus, as you can seriously mess up your TV's settings with no easy way to restore things to 'normal'.

definitely don't press an 'calibrate' options. it will be expecting a special signal source.

I've seen the shorts on the pcb before, where you had to use the button pad over top of it to get them to work (look for any contacts that aren't used by an existing button on the remote).

Honestly though, what you should really be looking for is a service manual for your TV. It will tell you exactly what to do. Even across the same brands it can be an entirely different process.

You might even be able to call a TV service place that works with sharp and they'll have access to them.

I've got a Dynex (shitty best buy brand) that I've been trying to get into for a while and never had any luck.

Yeah, it's a pain in the ass. You probably even saw a post of mine over on the avsforum in that same area.

I just need to adjust some slight geometry and RGB values, so I'm not in a huge hurry to get it, but eventually I'd like to figure it out.
