I just saw this. I was under the impression only civilans got hit, and not any actual royalty.

damn..

you can tell from the pictures that the security gents didn't even know what was happening as they are looking in the opposite direction. Not that they could have done anything but it was certainly a surprise.

In one of the big cities here in the states (I want to say Philadelphia) the police chief elicited some grumbling for instituting a policy that you can't shoot at moving vehicles, under the argument that bullets don't stop cars. This incident certainly highlights that having a couple good-sized cars flanking dignitaries is a good idea, because you can trap some miscreant and then take action.

Apparently he broke through some security before attacking the parade, though.

I didn't realize until now this was in Apeldoorn. An eBay seller of some nice retro stuff is located there, which brings this to home somewhat more.

A loner. 38 years of age. Not much else is known.

Apparently he had lost his job as a security officer, but otherwise was considered perfectly quiet and polite.

Confessed aiming for the royals before dying.

Yes, however it announced not so long ago that he has died due severe damage in his body (read: He got pwned). Death fo` Death bitch (Since he killed 5 other people).

I just love it how games can be played with people and events only count once they start playing back.
I'm not talking right what he did in any way.
I'm just saying that everybody should consider how it got to this.
