Ed in California: Star Trek premiere pre-pics + more

Post by Ed Oscuro »

I'm justifying breaking off this from the current Star Trek thread because it's not all about the movie. But mainly. Sorry about the dry writing, but I must save my strength.

Obviously, no pictures from inside the theater. But maybe some good ones will reveal themselves.

I'll have to publish another post later with pictures of the tons of Terminator ads I've seen, including one that covers the whole side of a building (and with a regular-sized billboard right across the street from it, too). Finally, the birds here are almost too friendly.

Wear your Vulcan ears, you might be able to get inside and snag some photos. ;)

IT'S AWESOME

Updated the blog; beware, some minor (or maybe major?) spoilers, about the beginning of the movie.

I did get in. Time to rub elbows with Nimoy, I hope!

No photos from inside the theater yet, sorry!

There'll be more, including hopefully awesome pictures of celebrities in compromising positions! Or just blurry pictures without the flash on.

The third installment of write-ups (without new pictures so far, sorry) is some discussion of the wrap party.

I feel so far behind anyone who's spent time with Trek beyond TOS and TNG, I won't even comment.

I'm considering ordering five 120v LED lamps for the kitchen chandelier, which can't really accomodate CFLs (they would bug out the bottom).

But I just got 40w Edison halogens for the first time and the color temp is sweet compared to standard 40w incandescents.

Seen any trip reports about installations with multiple, recent LEDs?

Isn't nice to rub elbows with the famous Hollywood celebrities and paparazzi on opening film night, Ed? You never know whom you might bump into. As for catching some stars in compromising situations, that stuff is best regulated behind closed doors. Lol ^_~

And are you planning to attend the opening night premire of the Terminator Salvation film? With it's $200 million dollar budget, it's definitely gonna be a good Terminator sequel. Terminator fans have been waiting for a long time ever since Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines film left the sliver screen. ^_~

Whatever film director McG has in store for the Terminator fans with his Terminator Salvation film, it's bound to be ace. I've always wondered just how the Future War was fought with the Human Resistance against the Machines -- this fourth sequel will tell us more about that portion of the Teminator saga mythos. It should be a good time to pick up the McFarlane Toys produced Terminator Salvation T-600 action figure with it's crazy amount of articulated points as well. As usual, the detailing and craftmanship is superb. ^_~
