Jamma adapter for Moon Cresta

Post by ckong »

I did spend part of the evening soldering a jamma adapter for my Moon Cresta PCB from Sega Gremlin. I used the pinout schema from crazykong.com

It's almost finished, but not quite. I need to know:
- what means vol wiper, and which jamma pin does it match?
- the same for vol gnd
- also for vol out
- I can't find the video ground. Which pin on the PCB is it?

Can anybody help me with the answers?

Must admit that is a little confusing - the only pins you in fact need to connect for the speaker are:

V - Vol Out
18 - SP+

As it's mono and you're using a single speaker it doesn't matter which one goes to which speaker wire, so connect them up however you like, ie one speaker wire to pin V (component side), the other to pin 18 (circuit side).

Depending on your board, it MAY be necessary to ground one of the speaker wires on the adaptor as sometimes one of the pads on the PCB isn't actually connected to anything. Only try tieing one to Ground if you still don't get any sound.

Hope that helps.
