Actually I think its part of the color and fun of going to the arcade.cyprien wrote:That go frequents the arcade here in NYC and it's much more annoying live than you would think.
We didn't have formal arcades on LI where I lived, the newest machines were always at the bowling alley, deli's and trading card shops. I miss NBA Jam..
Annoying would be going to summer camp and all the guys quoting SFII characters during pillow fights. "tiger uppercuts" and bags of cotton just don't go together

Not always applicable......(Vote Roll.)Udderdude wrote:Even if they made the god tier characters not god mode, it would just be the high tier characters all the time instead. And nobody would play the "fixed" mode.brokenhalo wrote:there is no way they'll patch this game. the fanboys would freak out. and besides, where would you start? this game is the definition of broken.
But here's a nearly 1/infinity minority speaking here.
Besides, watering down the game with patches and stuff would mean more work for the producers/porters, and no one likes work anymore...

If I remember correctly, the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (god I hate typing that) demo was the same way, with local 2-player versus only.handsome_rakshas wrote:Demo is out on the PSN. You can't even play single player or online, just vs. 2P. And there are only 2 punches and kicks, was the old version like that? I don't remember.
Street Fighter 4 is pretty good in terms of lag .. I think if Capcom has the same guys working on it, it should turn out fine. But that's not a guarantee.undamned wrote:What do you guys think of the probability of lag problems? I can't imagine how frustrating it would be in an intense battle to lose due to a microsecond of lag that broke your rythm.

MvC2 online play is going to be 95% scrubs button mashing anyway. :3
Nope, the STHD demo only had Ryu/Ken but it had an online component to test the netcode. PSN is just getting screwed.tommyb wrote: If I remember correctly, the Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (god I hate typing that) demo was the same way, with local 2-player versus only.
As for lag, since they said it would use STHD's netcode, you can expect the basic ability to do your stuff but lots of crashing and an overall lag that really makes it unplayable for serious play. STHD was good but still a far cry from GGPO. It's different enough that I play on GGPO before tourneys to make sure my offline timing is in tune (even though it has a slight amount of lag too that affects frame-sensitive counters).
