Ordering an Xbox 360 from NCSX

Post by Egg »

Hi everyone,
well i finally tool the plunge and I just placed an order for a Japanese Xbox 360...it was clearly advertised for $298. When I completed the order, on the confirmation page it said I was charged $320 + shipping.

Now $20 isn't a huge difference, but did anyone else recently buy a console from them and experience this? In fact, now when I go back and check their website, the item is listed at $320. Do I have any recourse at all?

Seems kinda shady to me....I never bought anything from NCSX before, hope I am not getting screwed....I just emailed their customer service, let's see what they have to say.

shipping was only about $10 for me via UPS Ground, so it still worked out to be cheaper than ordering from Play Asia. I think my total was just shy of $330 shipped.

I just got mine from them and that's what I paid. The shipping was $10 for me as well which is why I chose them over P-A and their $70 shipping.

I ordered it about a month ago. I got it about a week ago.

I purchased the arcade version and it has a Jasper chipset.

When I was shopping around for a j360 last week the price on the NCS site was definitely $299. So yeah, they did increase the price. Glad I went with Play-Asia now. With the price increase and sales tax (I live in NY) I would have paid the same price either way. PA shipped my 360 earlier than expected and it got here overnight, which takes a bit of the sting outta the $70 shipping fee.

I wasn't too mad about the two week ship time from NCSX. I've almost been too busy to sit down and even play the thing since I've gotten it.

Question about japanese xbox 360. Is it just plug and play in the USA? Or do I need a voltage converter of some sort?

It works fine with the USA power brick, didn't have to switch anything.

There are 3 actually, 203w, 175w and 150w. They are all 110v power supples though, which is what you the US and Japan use. Make sure you do get a Japanese machine, not Asian, as that will have a 220v psu which will not get the power from your outlet to run the machine.

The long and the short, any Japanese xbox 360 will plug straight in in the US. Nowadays you will get either a late Falcon machine (175w psu) or a Jasper (150w psu).

thanks for all the good info everyone.
Well, overall I am happy w/ NCSX...the price jump was an unexpected surprise...but oh well, i didnt have too many other options. Plus, they have really good customer service and basically responded to all my questions pretty much instantly....so I give them +1 pos feedback :)

I saw it for 298$ as well just a few days ago.

I think they hiked up the price due to Death Smile release and they know they can get away with it.

I could believe that they upped the price due to increased demand, but I'm sure if you wanted you could return it and get your money back.

Since everything worked out in the end, alls well that ends well I guess. Play on.
