My 360 is kicking the bucket. It's picture and sound die out after about 6 minutes or less. No matter what cord, what tv, nothing.
That's fine, because I have a warranty at my local Wal-Mart that I bought, and I can replace it today.
I want to delete my profile from the machine, and then put it on the next one. How do I do that, and can I download the games I have bought once I get the new one?

a good failsafe to keep important stuff is to get the cheapest mem card and move your profile onto that and use that as your "login key".
I'd advise everyone to do that regardless, it makes your profile nice and portable and allows you to hot-swap to another machine with a minimum of fuss, plus you can squeeze on a couple of valuable saves.
You can redownload MOST of the games from your profile once on a new machine, some no longer appear though and there is some trouble with now-removed DLC and older titles.
the other option is to recover the data using the DLC transfer tool once you get your repaired machine back and transfer your profile. OR you can recover your profile over the internet onto your new machine and redownload the DLC.
but yeah, the saves/profile on a memcard is a really good idea to save what you really don't want to lose.

*A guy who has recovered alot of XBL accounts enters*
Okay 2 options regarding your profile:
1: Save it on a memory card and transfer it that way
2: Recover it via XBL using your gamertag, email address and XBL ID password for the profile.
I use the second option when people pay me to level accounts on halo. You will lose your game saves with option 2 however you will be able to redownload any DLC or previously purchased items from the marketplace, you keep your achievements etc regardless.
You can also transfer data from one 360 hardrive to another, keeps DLC content and game saves etc.
Thats all there is to it.
