I attended last year's California Extreme 2004 show held at the San Jose Tech Museum's "Parkside Hall" Convention Room in California (huge room filled with classic & modern arcade/pinball games...over 400 games all set on "Free Play"). I do recall seeing and playing some shmup arcade titles there including:
*Namco's 1998 Tenkomori Variety Shooting arcade upright (with custom marquee...from private collection of CAE member whose in charge of putting on the CAE show...wasn't offered for sale)
*NMK's Thunder Dragon vertical-oriented shmup housed in a mini arcade upright cabinet (was offered for sale at $350.00 U.S. dollars by a private seller)
*Fabtek/Seibu Kaihatsu"s Raiden Fighters 2: Operation Hell Dive (was brought in by one of the CAE member's whose charge of putting on the CAE show...wasn't offered for sale)
Here's a downloadable PDF flyer for the upcoming California Extreme 2005 show:

And here's the link to the CAE website:

I'd like to see if some more arcade shmup titles will be offered at this year's CAE-05' show...that'd be bitchin' cool!

I wondered if I should bring my Astro City and Windy cabs loaded with Ketsui and DDP (or ESPRade)...but I didn't like their strict terms. I also don't have transportation for them. Oh well...not worth bringing them. BTW: Excellentcom quoted me a price for Tenkomori (they said they could source from another supplier) for around $200...but I turned them down since its just about emulated now.
If you are in/near San Jose, I have a shmupmeet posted in the other forum, happening in a little over a week from now on June 18th.
