Gamebox problem.

Post by g4rou »

Hi all I'm new here.
Just bought a Sega Astro City cab, installed with a gamebox.
Everything was working fine till I tried adding some new games (into the roms folder), Hooked everything back up, everything boots up, but the graphics on the screen are all messed up?

Does someone know what's going on?

Thanks.

Does your Gamebox PCB use a HDD or a Compact Flash card setup?

Sounds like you will have to remove it again from the Gamebox and see if removing the offending roms will restore your Gamebox. If not, then you may have to reinstall everything. Did your Gamebox come with a backup "installation" disc in case that "garbled graphics" situation occurs?

Try poking around on the Gamebox HDD to see what various programs are already installed. What OS is your Gamebox running on + the CPU specs?

Hi PC Engine Fan X!

Thanks for the quick reply,

It has a HDD, I did back up the original HDD.
Just installed a new HDD with the backed up data,
Still getting the same garbled graphics, Unfortuanatly I didn't get back up disks.

Don't what else to do?

If you still have the original HDD that came shipped with your Gamebox PCB, try reinstalling that one and see if it fixes the problem. How many game roms did your Gamebox come with pre-installed anyways?

Had a look at the original HDD, seems to be corrupted?

It came with about 200 I think.

Pity there's not alot of info out there on the Gamebox.

Think it might not be booting up properly?

If your Gamebox's original HDD is corrupted, then it's back to square one. You'd have to buy another one. Yeah, there really isn't a whole of lot info on those Gameboxes. Oh well.

Would I have to buy one from Gamebox?
Or can I use any HDD?

Thanks for all the help.

Perhaps, your Gamebox may not be booting up properly. Is your Gamebox situated to display either your games in horizontal screen mode or vertical screen mode (before you added the new game roms)?

It seems that you really just need is a fresh re-install of all the necessary utility programs that make the Gamebox work properly including whatever front-end program it utilizes (such as ArcadeOS front end).

Well it was in Horizontal mode when I played it last.

I was thinking of a fresh install, but where would I get the files?

Think it also runs SnesKey.

Hey guys,

Finally got my Gamebox to work, but only on a pc monitor.
When I connect it to my Arcade monitor, all I get is a scrambled screen?
The loading is happening, but the screen is scrambled.

Is there a file I need to change the resolution in?

Anybody ever have the same problem...
